I think either Byrd I, Chagaev or Ibragimov was his best opponent, even though they didn't prove to be his toughest fights. Chagaev was maybe his best performance against a top name. Ibragimov was obviously one of the least entertaining HW title fights in history but it doesn't change that Mr. Rubble was one of his best opponents, some say a little better than Chagaev, and maybe so, and he was completely dominated.

Please explain to me how any of these opponents were better than Brock.

Byrd was undersized and a southpaw with NO POWER against a much taller opponent with a huge right hand and massive size advantage. It was mismatch before it started.

Chagaev stands right in front of his opponents, has negligable power, and again a comparably undersized southpaw who isn't aggressive and prefers to stay at the end of his opponents punches with a high guard. Not exactly what I would call brilliant tactics in the first place against arguably the hardest puncher at heavyweight who also held a considerable reach. And it's not like he was anything special before that fight. He proved he could take a beating against Valuev and could barely beat Ruiz.

    Hardly impressive.

Ibriganov had skill, but he was at a big disadvantage because he just recently learned a new style that he fought with against Briggs and Holyfield, neither wins were impressive, and it was a 180 from his previous style of mauling his opponents with pressure. Again, another undersized southpaw against a guy with big right hand that uses his height intelligently.

Unless you bring something special to the table against a tall and rangy fighter as a southpaw, you're not going to have much success.

Brock was the best opponent because he moved his head, had decent power, and solid overall skills. Now he didn't bring anything special to the table, but neither have any of Wlad's previous opponents that he beat. I think this guy was the best guy that he beat, and he beat him impressively.

At the same time, as I noticed a guy with the same height and considerably less reach and experience at the championship level, I envisioned a fight with Sonny Liston vs Wlad who would have a 7 inch reach advantage over Brock, 3 over Klitschko, and is known for banging people out.

In addition, that hook that missed with Brock would land with Liston. It's too bad that Wlad would likely have found a way to talk his way out of negotiations.

I don't even have anything against you, and I'm tryin to treat you like a man. I thought maybe I had seen you post something reasonable before, but apparently you're one of those cats that gets stuck on fighters and can't think beyond them.

And the guy you just posted, I think he beat Chagaev.

I don't care. I'm not in the mood to get into one of those "Daddy, why is the sky green?" "It's blue, you dumb ****." conversations. It's pointless.

I put up legitimate points though.

Listen, maybe we're just from different parts of the world and we got different textbooks to decided what proper boxing is.

You got your robotic, predictable, straight up and down, high guard fighters.

I got my own. And yes Ibraginov was better than Chagaev, and not even necessarily a better athlete.

You know why he was better? He was being trained by Mayweather.

I'm fan of boxing. I think I have the right to be pissed.

You can't beat Klitschko with no movement. Chisora is going to get slaughtered. It's such a mismatch that the fight shouldn't even be commissioned.

Man, with all do respect, I don't give a ****.

I mean, the man wasn't even impressive when he beat an ancient Holyfield. Toney dominated his ass and he's a former middleweight.

    Exactly.

Also, "He's a former middleweight" might be slightly misleading. He's a former middleweight champion, super middleweight champion, cruiserweight champion and heavyweight contender and one of the most talented fighters I've ever personally seen. It's not like "Gary Lockett kicked that guy's ass better than Ibragimov." But then again, who's Holyfield? Some former light heavyweight...;)
