Yeah I'll admit that until that final knockdown I was a little pissed that Wlad didn't finish him off after the crazy 2nd round. But a KO is a KO.
I never got to see the fight, from what I read this was the best round of the fight. Damn, it didn't look like much but there must have been some power in that hook. BTW ... Why is the win listed as a TKO on boxrec, was it due to the time left on the clock?
I think we've seen alot of late that the peak-a-boo defense is quite frustrating for an opponent (and the viewers)... Clottey, AA and in this case Chambers. If Wlad went to the body a bit more he could bring the guard down and finish the fight alot sooner but otherwise I can't fault Wlad too much for this effort, he was more aggressive than usual.
@Broxi - it's because the ref didn't finish the count, so technically it becomes a TKO. It was a lacklustre performance but a great KO. I think Wlad's a great fighter to watch when he opens up - I just wish he went in with the same offensive attitude earlier.
Geting KTFO by journeymen early on still haunts him. Why risk it? He has an ATG jab, might as well ride it.
I do feel sorry for any individual and athlete that goes to sleep like that but I do not for the guy who had an opportunity to win a HW Championship and presents himself for the 12th round looking only to survive... I mean Chambers was not looking for a counter, he was really backing away, staying safe and running the clock down which is the same to say that he was in there just 2 say that he tried, he was a World title challenger and came up 2nd best... I do not feel sorry for the Chambers of this World.
