Wladimir invented his new style which no one in boxing can do anything to offset or trouble. He just stays in your face pumping jabs and occasional rights and hooks. it looks passive but it's really contolled passive aggression just waiting for the minute instant to pounce. at any second, the right comes after the jab and it's like an atomic bomb. Or the hook comes flying in at the speed of light. His one punch power KO's of Brock, Thompson and now Chambers is more devastating than Tyson on Brebick, Spinks, Holmes. These are one shots, Tyson's took more than one shot. Ali and all them would get the same vicious treatment. There's really nothing to do but take the beating, either short and sweet or prolonged beatdowns like Rahman and Brewster, then quit before the KO. No one can score any kind of offense on WK, it's just totally one sided because the man is too good. he has used his intelligence to master a new style - no body shots - which will never be threatened until father time steps in. Emanuel Steward deserve credit too but WK is the one exeucting this new perfect style which makes everyone appear to be bums.
Brock went 7, Thompson went 11, Chambers went 12 Berbick went 2, Spinks went 1, Holmes went 4 I'll tell you what kind of style Wlad has. It's one where he uses his height well, showing a good sense of distance and basic standup skills to go along with great power. It's nothing dynamic and he's no where near the all around fighter some of the lower weight guys are.
I agree to a degree you go a little to far but your right about the calm cool strategy and that he controls every second and at any moment can end the fight. And his 1 punch KO's are some of the best
Wlad is a very good fighter, but I don't believe he could end the fight against a prime Ali at any moment, and I would like to see that calm cool strategy against Ali, who is known for getting into fighters heads, and have knocked out ATG fighters that can take a punch better than Wlad.:yep
i didnt agree with the ali part of the post thats where i said he went to far he may have a chance to win but ice cold KO not sure
he changed boxing all right, i never knew a man so big can have a chin so weak and fight so scared. he's truly a legend in that regard!!
Ali's chin and heart >>>>>>>>>>>>> Wlad. Ali's speed and defense - Nothign that Wlad has ever seen or dealt with. RE: Making HW's look like bums - That's cause the whole division is bum land. "Which will never be threatened until Father time steps in" - Or someone with a chine who touches his on the china. He's a great fighter and a supremely skilled athlete - But lets not go overboard here dude.
hehe. judging wlad's supremeness on the AVERAGE heavies he's been knocking out, does not ammount to knocking out atgs like Ali. at least not easily. Ali has more heart and chin then wladmir, his Hand speed and footwork is also superior. wlad has size and strength and punching power, all of which have proved futile against Ali, seeing as he can take nearly any shot from any heavyweight. i'd like to see wlad survive in a thrilla in manilla. could he even go 15 rounds at that pace? I think wlad would get outpointed. but do you really think wlad would beat Lewis, holmes, louis, liston, etc? these guys are on a different class compared to wladmir. I also think rocky Marciano would beat wladmir.. even though wlad is much bigger, rocky's heart, chin, courage, will, and power are all superior to the ukranian. he would be underneath his shots all day. wlad would have to punch down, which is very awkward. since Marciano loves to fight on the inside, and wlad can't do it, Marciano would demolish him. he'd wear him down with body shots then come with a dynamite right hand to capitalize his attack and focus on wladmirs big weakness: his glass chin. vitali is a different story..
I believe many on this thread will echo this statement. Wlad stays in excellent shape 24/7/365, uses his length exceptionally well and has outstanding ko power in his right hand. He has an elementary style that is perfect for someone with his size but I would give the more elusive HWs in boxing history an excellent chance of beating him. This includes prime Dempsey, Patterson, Frazier, Tyson. Not to mention many others who would be very live underdogs... I respect Wlad as a fighter and I believe he's done quite well with such a basic style but let's try to be objective when gauging his chances in classic matchups.
Ali was waaaaaayyyy too fast and slick for Wlad. Wald would barely even touch him. Bad style matchup, for sure
