but he screwed up. I respect all boxers who climb in that ring and risk their lives for money which usually is proportional to the excitement they bring in the ring. It is clear however that not all all boxers care to make a bout competitive ... such as wladimirs fight last night. Some casual fans might bring up mayweather as a boring fighter due to the lack of clear/hard blows however little can they understand the technical masterclass delivered by money may. Yesterdays clinch fest with wladimir brought the same complaints however this time i had no justifications. I agree that all it takes is to win no matter how however... that does not apply to my PPV money. Fights like these do not promote his legacy.. and its a shame coz this time he had a worthy opponent and if he fought a different fight and won... people would appreciate his efforts more.
It's true it doesn't paint a positive picture of him as a champion. His 2 biggest fights against Haye and Povetkin have not resulted in the kudos you would expect Infact these 2 career defining fights have been treated with scorn from many boxing fans. It happening once is bad but for it to happen a second time is very damaging.
Great point. He's only fought 2 high level opponents near their prime. One he barely even hit with a jab in 12 rounds and the other he fouled about 20 times a round. Voidimir needs to understand you can't just rack up a lot of wins without ever putting on a performance. He looks boring and awful against the best and the worst this poor era has to offer. He is without a doubt the worst HW champ to hold the titles for such an extended period.
