Wladimir hasn't dominated an A-level opponent in over 4 years

Let's face some facts here: since beating Eddie Chambers im march 2010, Wlad has not been a worthy HW champion.

Let me explain you why: he's looked awful in beating the top-level opponents he faced in that time, namely Haye and Povetkin, while only looking like a true champ against sub-par competition like Leapai, Mormeck, Pianeta and Wach, who are all C-level at best.

Ok, Haye had his share in making their fight a stinker (remember he had a broken toe...), yet at the end of the day Wlad is the champ and should have taken things into his own hands and at least try to win this dominantly. Could you ever imagine Lennox Lewis or Vitali fighting so timidly like Wlad did in that fight? Instead Wlad preferred to take no risk whatsoever, making this look like a semi-heated sparring session between two old pals. So boring...

As for Povetkin, Wlads 'performance' didn't convince anybody but his hardcore fans here. It was a total farce, and he wasn't even able to finish the exhausted Povetkin after grappling him for a 12 rounds... Povetkin had the moral victory here, because he at least tried to make it a fight and a boxing match. That was another showcase of pure anti-boxing by Wlad.

This leaves Sam Peter and Tony Thompson, who were both has-beens when they had their rematches with Wlad. Sam Peter was totally softened up by that time and already finished, while Thompson... ok, he had some upset wins recently, so I'll give Wlad credit for a decent win over 40 year old Tony Thompson here. That's Wlads best performance during the last 4 years. Wow!

I would be the first one to give Wlad a pass for beating up no-hopers like Leapai, Mormeck or Pianeta if he only put in dominating performances against his real challengers out there that he faced (Haye, Povetkin), yet he failed to do so. No wonder everybody is getting tired of the HW division when there's such a non-convincing champ.

I've been a fan of his a long time ago but I can't bother these days. But this is not about me. The thing is that a lot of his former fans start to get fed up, which is bad for his own career as well as for the whole HW division.

Just look at the stats: the number of people watching his fights on german TV has been declining rapidly these four last years, and I'm not even going to start with the US public or the rest of the world.

Can you provide some stats. I know the Haye fight was a major success and i have yet to hear of a Klitchko fight bomb.

I'd say Povetkin was A-Level (relative to current era) and so was Haye.

Of course, Wladimir hasn't dominated anyone actually if you think about it. Klitschko's worst nightmares Haye and Povetkin got beaten to a pulp and probably won 2 rounds together.

Yep, both are A-level, but Klitschko didn't dominate them. Read my post

Povetkin was probably the best guy he ever fought and look at how he had to perform against him. He should of been DQ'd

The other two best guys he fought knocked him out in 2 and 5 rounds.

9m in Germany for the HW champion of the world who is based in Germany is a pathetic figure.

Many fighters based in the US can't sell out a 10000 arena let alone a 50000 stadium, and also get 2 million in viewers on HBO or Showtime.

And the highest paid athlete in the world can only sell a little over 1 million PPV“s every time he fights is as pathetic. I mean you have over 300 million citizens and you only find a handful who cares enough to buy it?
