Wlad is already HOF worthy but it still wouldn't hurt to unify all the belts and add a few more quality defenses.

    Excellent analysis, point for point.

Face it though, to some of the haters he'll never be good enough for them. :-(

Nope. Not yet - not even close. Wlad doesn't even rank as high as Ingo yet as far as I am concerned. He is not even the heavyweight champ yet - he's a belt holder. I don't know how supposedly knowledgeable fans can even try and make a stupid case like this.

He's in, but that says more about the standards of the HOF, rahter than what Wlad has accomplished

Bull****. Wladimir is already ahead of Igmar Johannson on any serious ATG list.

What standard are you using for this comparison?

i dont know the standards for the boxing HOF but i say no. once he establishes himself as the undisputed champion, then yes. becoming the first hw to unify all 4 would clinch it. he doenst have to do this. if he just fought top 10 contenders for the next 3 or 4 years and dominated, he certainly has a case but unification is the way to go

it's hard to tell though, the Pro Football HOF is probably the hardest to get into but the NBA HOF seems for easier to get into. it just depends on the standards the selectors use

personally, i think an athlete should be the best of their era or close to it for a period of time or very good for a long period of time

Yeah, and the thing is, you know that I used to be pretty critical of Wlad. The man has done verything he can do to prove himself, period. He can't build a time machine and fight prime ali or prime Foreman.

    1. Its good for my case that I didn't use just numbers- its was one of eight points. The bottm line is that Wladdy would beat most men in history in a head to head.

    2. Once again, you are taking losses out of context. Brester significantly improved, just like Wlad, Jack Demspey, Jack Johnson, etc. before him

Wladimir never boxed Ross Purrity (a good chinned journeyman) or Corrie Sanders again. A real Champion does not behave like this. Ali or Lewis took revenge when they lost a fight. Perhaps he has the chance to be a HOF when he unifies all the 4 belts.

Phleaaaaase.... Ken Norton never avenged his losses to Foreman, Holmes, Shavers and Cooney... yet he's in HOF. There are many other examples like this one.

You are right, but Ross Purrity is a journeyman! Foreman, Holmes, Shavers are not!

He avenged Brewster perfectly, Purity and Sanders are no factor in the division now so there is no point in avange such loses.

Given his current status as 'The Man' in the heavyweight division, he would receive more criticism for making these fights, than he already does for not having avenged these loses.
