This is good news because it sounds like this is a set up for Wlad to fight the winner of Sultan vs Chagaev:good

Sultan and Chagaev are making it happend at least.
Look for Wladimir to chase the winner of these two, but not getting a title shot. :-((

    "Sultan vs Ibragimov fight!"

Two questions comes to the mind:

    1. which is Sultan and which Ibragimov?
    2. is Wlad goint to fight Ruslan Chagaev when Sultan knock Ibragimov out?

I'm willing to recognize the Chagaev v Ibragimov winner as the #2 in the division with Wlad as the #1 so if the winner of this was to fight Wlad then I would consider us to have a new 'Champion' and I mean The Champ , linear true and proper .

Is it a 2-on-1 handicap match? Because that's the only way Wlad loses any fight involving either of these guys. :yep

The winner of this fight will be number 3 still to me, with the winner of Maskaev/Peter being the number two guy. So I guess Chagaev will be number three....still.

I actualy have both Chagaev and Ibragimov above Peter even at this point. For me the winner of this fight is definetly #2. In addition, it seems like Peter vs. Maskaev is off.

If Maskaev v Peter goes ahead as planned the week before this I might have a different opinion .

But chagaev has beaten Virchis , Ruiz and Valuev . If you add Ibragimov to that list he certainly has the best recent wins other than Wlad . There is even a win over Sprott there aswell who is okay and should have got the win over Virchis himself(and yes I'm aware Virchis was sick in the lead up to that fight before anyone points it out) .

Ok then they'll be tied for number 2

I just think Ibragimov is overrated, he only has one decent win and that was aginst a bulked up asthmatic never was.

The site that talks about boxing says that Wlad was invited to defend his title on the undercard of the Chag Ibrag fight, but declined due to his hand injury.

I think the hand was only a very minor thing that they said would be OK in a few weeks, so I think Wlad didn't accept cause he didn't want to play second banana to these other guys by fighting on their undercard.

    LOL

But anyway, it also says that Ibrag and his management, if victorious, are committed to unify further with Wlad next year some time. But if Chagaev wins, which is very likely, I doubt he and his promoter, Universum, will be as willing to further unify with the favored Klit, who Universum had a big fallout with when they parted ways.

Other way around, pal. Fat, shot Rahman and fat, shot Toney coming off a draw that should have been the cue to end their careers, are not more impressive victories than big and slow but dangerous Valuev and big and slow but dangerous Briggs.

"Wladimir invited to Sultan vs Ibragimov fight!"

Is he also invited to the Ruslan vs. Chagaev fight?
