If wlad was 35 I would confidently pick him to beat Fury, KO joshua and KO wilder but at this age he’ll get ktfo by any decent heavy . He should have retired after he went life and death with Jennings.

Any decent heavy should have kod Foreman in the 90s but they weren't good enough to stop him taking a strap.

He was mighty impressive against Joshua and could on another night have won that, not suggesting he comes back but if he did I can see a way for him definitely beating Wilder and possibly AJ and Fury and that would be to fight in the same attacking manner he did v AJ but just temper it a little with the jab n grab stuff.

The Fury defeat and AJ defeat was just two opposite extremes, some feel that it’s his killer instinct that’s gone though Vitali took some of the blame for him not going all in on Joshua after the knockdown.

That’s very true..he also showed against AJ that all that talk about him not being able to pull the trigger anymore was not entirely true, that fight is really something, high level of skill by both and unlike the fury fight both guys were throwing with mean intentions.
Wilder would only have 20-30% chance of beating Wlad imo as I just couldn’t s see Wilder taking Wlad punches all that well, that’s not a slight on Wilder but he’s so much smaller in weight.

yes that was a poor choice, didn’t his brother Vitali blame himself for giving him bad advice about that?

Most had Wlad ahead until the 11th vs Joshua. I'm okay with him coming back more I think about it, a rematch with Fury when he beats Wilder would be something.

I had Wlad favourite to beat fury in the rematch, simply because I knew Wlad could never fight any worse than that weird performance.
I agree though it’s only worth doing if he can get a fight with Wilder for that green belt and I just don’t see em giving Wlad a chance as it so nearly backfired with Fury.

Not as I recall. Haven't watched the fight in awhile, but I thought they were dead even going into the 11th in a fight that was fairly easy and straightforward to score.

Wlad had the momentum going into the 11th, for sure, but I definitely didn't have him ahead. Credit to AJ for rising to the moment in round 11.

A lucky punch in my book but Wlad has himself to blame for not closing the show mid rounds.

He's not coming back, certainly not against the likes of Whyte.

You’re right it was about as even a fight you ever think of but if I recall rightly the judges had Joshua up until of Course Joshua decided to leave the judges out of it.
As a boxing fan I can’t understand those that hate on that fight, how many commentators who have seen it all,all came out and said that fight was really something special?
What if Wlad was trigger shy, what if Joshua was too green and not as good as they thought?even the build up was mega and it’s like both guys agreed to win by knockout with Wlad a true gentleman offering to pass on the torch to the would be champion.
If Wlads age played a part then I didn’t see it.

I think that's a little harsh to claim it was a lucky punch, mainly because I thought the effort and determination from Joshua told us a lot about him.
