remember that's against a 40 year old Ray Mercer. It was a showcase fight. Sultan is a damn solid fighter who wont stand in front of you.

But I agree. Wlad looked to be the second coming of Joe Louis with his offense at that point. But it wasn't meant to be. He is certainly more conservative on O but u must admit his defense has become top notch. Not as exciting but he's a better overall fighter and much more difficult to beat. I think he is lacking confidence too conscious of getting hit. He needs to trust himself more.

BTW. what's my avatar. i got to serve three consecutive terms so i want start ASAP :yep

I don't think Manny ruined him at all. His jab is alot stiffer and stronger and I think his right hand is more powerful cause he sits on his punches more. Plus he's recognized by most boxing media and fans as the number 1 heavyweight right now.

Fritz Sdunek ruined Wladimir Klitschko, he lost to Sanders and Brewster and Emanuel Steward did a great job, brougth him back to the top and made him IBF/IBO and WBO Champ.:happy Thanks a lot Emanuel Steward. :good

I couldn't agree more. In between rounds of the Sanders debacle, Sdunek just asked Wlad "are you OK?"...no instruction to jab, move, clinch, whatever, nothing. Manny turned Wlad into a fighter who is very difficult to beat, no matter what the other guy brings to the table.

He was just as tentative and afraid in the McLine fight until Mclines fragile bottle finally burst on his stool! It was like regression back to that. He had the same excuses in the post fight interview after being booed for being boring. The guy is intelligent, he isnt there to be hit and likely plans on retireing relatively young, so as soon as he gets recognition he wont hang around, plus if he is anything like his brother he is coming into a physically difficult age soon!

In fact it was Steward in the corner for the Brewster loss.

I'm not too happy with what he's done either. The Sam Peter fight pretty much destroyed whatever admiration I had for Waldo. Constant jab jab grab. Jab jab grab. Jab right hand grab.

He did the same thing with Lennox Lewis. How anyone can respect a man that size fighting like John Ruiz is beyond me.

It makes more sense for a large man to fight in this manner.

This forum has a bunch of ****ing ******s in it that believe every negative press they read. Fortunately for Wlad what they think doesn't mean **** and he is the unified champion with millions of dollars and he's laughing at all these nerd virgins calling him boring, and he'd kill every single one of them with just his jab.

I do think Wlad needs to be offensive...if people remember him as a boring HW, he'll suffer the same problems as Larry Holmes...

I mean the guy used to have every punch in the book...and throw NOTHING but combinations...he can obviously still do it (he shows flashes of his old combinations here and there) but is too conservative...

    Kick some ****ing ass, Wlad!!!
