This would n't have been a fight to thrill the masses. I'd take Young to steal it on points. Jimmy would've been too cute, and fast for Wladimir or his brother, imo.
Wlad by a late stoppage. if young gets lucky and wlad gets timid then wlad in a medium sized decision victory.
The upcoming fight with "Fast" Eddie Chambers, who seems similar to the late JY in size and skills, will be able to tell us the answer in march.
Klitschko would win on points. It would be a stinker of a fight, as neither guy would be able to score much against the other. I think Klitschko's ultra-effective use of his height and reach (consider Manny Steward's influence here) and his left jab would generally tilt the action in his favor, though. Young is the superior, more flexible, and faster boxer here without doubt. But I cannot believe that Young would be able to compensate against Klitschko's size advantage. Klitschko would use his physical assets intelligently and patiently in this one, much as he did in the first Byrd fight (2000). Young's defensive acumen would keep him from being kayoed, however. As someone else already pointed out, Young was severely lacking in power, therefore Klitschko's durability problem would be a non-issue in this fight.
Young could make a fight interesting but I think the jab of Vlad would make the difference here...Jimmy can fight a survival fight but I do not seeing him taking chances or having the power to do so...Its a different senario if Vlad falls behing on points but I do not see Jimmy getting past Vlads Jab and he feels a few hard right hands that keeps him at bay...Foreman was wide and slow and low on fuel..Vlad is right down the pike with his punches
Excellent point. The straightness and pinpoint accuracy of Vlad's punches is what would keep this fight from becoming a repeat of Young-Foreman.
