Wladimir Klitchko vs. Prime Gerry Cooney

The same was said about Lennox Lewis a couple years back, as to him going to gay bars around his area.

I dont know if Wlad is gay, though turning down a date with a rich beauty like Julia Roberts makes very little sense to me, that part of the story I read does sound believable, do you talk to Wlad about his social life or are you just in the kitchen cooking him and Vitali hot plates?

 

I talk with Wlad all the time. I am also the training camp mgr and we are good friends.

Thats cool as hell, even though I dont like Wlad at all, you do at least have a very cool job. All jokes aside, does Wlad himself believe he has a weak chin? He looks very scared to get hit in fights, and when he does get hit solid, he seems to go into either a panic attack of sorts or immediately clinch, thats the only reason I'm asking, maybe you know more than I do.

The clinching is a manny steward tool. Actually It might look like panic, but he is very calm and focused with his game plan.

The Iggy fight was a problem. Iggy was leaning so far back that wlad was reluctant to throw the hard right for fear of becoming off balance and getting countered. to Some it looked like panic or lack of killer instinct Other than that, the fights are well thought out by Wlad and Manny. He doesnt have a week chin. Its not iron but its not as weak as some say. Wlad does know that sometimes he waits for the perfect opening to throw the right. He is working on that. He is the first to say "Im still learning"

Most guys that get hit flush by a guy weighing 200 lbs or more is going to have a problem with the chin.

I think he had confidence problems more than anything else after his loss to Brewster. But that is in the past and his confidence is sky high.

He is actually one of the nicest guys you would ever meet. He is real. No entourage, no limos, just a down to earth guy

Actually if he turned down a date with Julia Roberts he goes up in my estimation, she's a ****ing hound.

 

I thank you for taking the time to write that, and agree to an extent with what you said. Though theres a reason why Manny has Wlad clinching so excessively anymore, and I believe his weak chin has something to do with it. If you watch his fight against Sanders again, you will see, Wlad was a deer in the headlights, he didnt even try to clinch, he actually tried to fight through it, but as we all saw, lacked the mental toughness to get through it.

Against Sam Peter he looked like a goofball for a significant part of the fight, 97 clinches, numerous panic attacks, turned his back to his oppenent afew times, was floored 3 times, and honestly scared in the ring that night. Without Manny at his side, I would lay everything I own that Wlad would of suffered the same fate, as did against Sanders. The clinches got him through the tough times during that fight, and it was obvious to me and others, Wlad's chin looked quite weak that night against the heavy punching Peter.

 

See, there is a sense of humour in there somewhere, just crying to get out

Wlad is intelligent too and he is fighting intelligent. He had a plan and did not throw punches without thinking.

When he had the chance to train with Emanuel Steward since 2000 his boxing skills would be at ATG Level.

It is a shame that his first fight where such a desaster. It took some times to recover from this. But how Wlad reacts shows how great his heart real is. And the heart of Emanuel Steward. They are still working toghether. :good
