well nationality is not usually a definite integral thing, to me and surely to others. The word English itself is debased from Angles+Saxons from the continent, as you probably know, just as the last French World cup winners were largely 'colonials' , not 'French'.

I have no problem with Lennox being born in London and thus being partially English raised. God knows, London largely has hardly anything to do with being English anyway.
ON that point...Strange that Amir Khan, who sports a Northern accent, values and honesty, is categorised as being Asian British though. Northwest England is FAR more 'Anglosaxon' English in values and upbringing than London.

England is a bit mixed up when it comes to defining itself.

Actually I'm partly kidding because of the nature of his nationality. Born in the UK, from Jamaican parents, moved to Canada, represented Canada at the Olympics, moved back to Britain and the rest is history.
Makes you wonder how the Brits would have treated Wlad if he applied for a British passport.

it's really easy to "redefine" yourself when the top competition around are hasim rahman, tony the tiger thompson and shannon briggs all of whom were half a decade at least past their prime...and they weren't even that good in their prime to begin with. wlad and vitaly were champs of a heavyweight version of afghanistan...a wasteland. i don't blame them for the fact that any sign of talent had long since deserted heavyweight boxing, i just think all fanciful notions of either of them "redefining" themselves is fully illustrated in the decision by HBO to stop broadcasting their fights...and these guys were heavyweight champs. that by itself tells you all you need to know.
