:thumbsup After Wlad was blasted away by Sanders many people (myself included) thought his career would crumble apart not unlike Golota's did when he was blown away by Lennox in similar fashion. Everyone was writing Wlad off, and he overcame that adversity and followed a long journey that since transformed him into one of the greatest heavyweights of all time.
He never lost to Sam Peter he beat him twice. You think this is the absolute weakest HW era? I doubt a 45-year-old George Foreman wins any part of the HW championship and holds it until age 48 in this supposedly weak era. When Mike Tyson was asked if he could beat the Klitschko Bros on KTLA he said he didn't know and that people don't want to hear this but the HW's are bigger and stronger then they have ever been His words not mine. Wlad lost to Puritty in 1998! 16 frickin' years ago. Lost to Sanders in 2002 12 years ago and his last loss to Brewster over ten years ago. In his rematch with Brewster Wlad destroyed him making him quit on his stool without injury. Brew said he was worried about getting brain damage and not being able to talk to his kids from Wlad's JABS!!! To say he had to be rescued from Williamson shows you're either ignorant or an irrational hater or both. Garbage fighters don't dominate the HW division for over a DECADE where one punch can end the fight at any second.
Vlad is the top heavyweight living today........................according to Boente, Vlald will get to fight the winner of the Stiverne/Wilder fight..................probably next Spring, depending on how long it takes Stiverne's hand to heal.............................Vlad was drugged in the first Brewster fight, he was not drugged in the rematch........................in the Purrity fight Vlad was very young, he and Vitali were promoting the fight, Vlad did not train much, had diarrhea, weighed only 246 lbs., but was not knocked out, his corner threw in the towel while Vlad was on his feet. Vlad would have easily beaten Purrity in a rematch. Vitali was the first to knock Purrity out. Vlad was the first to knock Axel Schultz out, schultz beat the living crap out of Foreman...................
In the US only. Nobody in Europe was following the fights of Marciano or Holmes. They were completely irrelevant outside of the US. HW boxing is huge in Europe whereas it's irrelevant in the US today.
