Manny didnt start his pro career as a 7 weight world champion, and there is plenty more examples of fighters who just act like themselves in a lead up to a fight without going doing this ridiculous road of overstated self promotion and general disrespectfulness (definitely not a real word).

Haye's personality is ****ing shite, when he tries to trash talk it's cringe worthy. The only thing making him look slightly better at the moment is that Wlad is equally shite at it. They shouldn't try it, it's painful to listen to.

Haye has built a good following in the UK, but I think that's more indicative of the fact that there is a large group of people out there who want to see top Heavyweights fight. People want to see big fast dudes fight, Haye could not act like a tosser and still have been big.

What would have done him a lot better I think is not fighting absolute wank since he came to the Heavyweight division. If he had fought a couple of decent opponents and put on a few entertaining fights it would have gotten even more people on board.

 

Wlad has been cracking me up on his TV appearances this morning.

Respect the fact he admitted that Vitali is the natural fighter and mean one and that Wlad just boxed because he was good at it.

He comes across as a genuinely decent and charming bloke, and pretty amusing especially as he is speaking what is about his 4th language

On SSN when Jim White stood up next to him and said "if i didn't have my suit and mic on i'd have a square go right now" haha they should get him on Ringside.

 

I can't help but like Wlad, he is a gentleman and a credit to the sport.

But, conversely, I want to see Haye knock him out.

 

I really hope wlad wins, haye is such a ***** its a joke.

I doubt it would make that much difference.

The main selling point of this fight is the Big, heavy handed eastern european long time champion vs a lightning quick heavyweight. It sells on its own. The fact that Haye has carried this persona as a loud mouth just to earn that little bit extra in revenue is pathetic.

Regarding Wlad, yeah his trash talking is funny, but at least he is saying it in his 3rd of 4th language. David Haye's trash talk is just unoriginal and cringeworthy and the worst part is that he thinks he's very witty and clever and is having an effect on Wlad, when in reality it sounds stupid and Wlad genuinely doesnt give a ****....
