Looking at the current Ring ratings, I don't see how Wlad should be any lower than 6. I'd put him above Donaire, Cotto, Dawson, and Williams.

    Exactly..

There is no such thing as a P4P "belt" or "title"

Its a marketing ploy to make fights more expansive and bigger for the eye to catch. It's just a fictional list that is made to determine "oh this fighter at this weight class is better than this fighter at this weight class"

Wladimir has been dominating history's most glorious weight division for many years already. If that doesn't warrent a P4P spot on your list than I don't know what you're looking for in a fighter, I really don't.

Its all good and fun to throw the subjective card in but that doesn't mean every answer is right, it just means biased idiots get to feel good about themselves.

The fact that people in this thread think Wlad has a "medium skill level" and is just tall shows how little people actually know about him, or how poorly they analyse fighters. The guy has a better control of range than anyone in boxing, bar maybe Bernard Hopkins, he isn't just tall. Paul Williams is a talented giant and he sucks at controlling the range. It isn't as simple as having long arms. Wlad is a brilliant ring general, through his jab, great footwork (even more impressive for such a big man) and excellent anticipation.

Wlad is definitely top 10 P4P now, as is Vitali.

It also amazes me how Dawson is higher than Adamek on P4P lists. Dawson doesn't belong on the top 10 list, in my view. But like I said, P4P lists are just bogus marketing ploys to expand fighters popularity.

Adamek has beaten top contenders in 2 DIFFERENT WEIGHT CLASSES after his loss to Dawson, whilst Dawson has just beaten 2 named fighters/ has beens like Tarver and Johnson, twice, which was unnecessary. And 2 tomato cans in Ruiz and Mendoza.

    What a joke.

Yes, he does. He dominates every time out. He's a class above the rest.

"Cowardly" is a bad word to describe Klitschko's style. "Cautious" is more like it. Boxing is the least cowardly sport, or action of any kind, that any one man can participate in. The man has been hit with shots far too powerful for any mere fan to fathom. It is VERY wise to not want to get hit by shots like those again. I don't think he could have knocked out Chambers in 4, nor do I feel any other fighter on Earth can. Chambers is a world-class fighter who not only has never been knocked out prior to his fight with Klitschko, but also happens to be America's best heavyweight. Maybe the heavyweights are under criticism these days, but you don't become the best heavyweight in America by accident. He's no simple video game character.

I personally do not consider Klitschko's fights boring by any means. Regardless of our differing opinions, boring or not, he WINS...and should absolutely have a top pound for pound ranking. He is the heavyweight equivalent of Bernard Hopkins, not age-wise, but in terms of dominating his division and making several successful title defenses in a row, spanning over several years. Plain and simple: Domination! Many consider Hopkins boring also, yet he has dominated the pound for pound rankings for quite a while now. I think both are very entertaining, crafty and skilled (I consider crafty and skilled to be more entertaining as opposed to bloody, carefree, take two to land one, crude brawls) fighters who dominate with skills and ring intelligence, not popularity.

    Bull****.

If people believe it's a boxing masterclass and he's fighting a level of opponent warrenting a place on their P4P list they will place him accordingly.

However if people believe that a man who possess's so many quality attributes is under performing against a level of opposition he should be blowing out then they will place him accordingly.

P4P lists are subjective, it's not rocket science.

Once Adamek gets invested in by HBO, you'll see him ranked soon enough. Mark my words. The same thing happened with Dawson. Part of the reason they keep Donaire ranked is so people don't forget he beat one of Showtime's biggest fighters in Vic.

It is no coincidence that there are no Showtime fighters ranked in the top 10, and no fighters who don't have a relationship with HBO ranked on it. In exchange for favorable schedules for Golden Boy Promotions on its network, HBO gets free reign over the P4P list which it uses it for marketing.

I dont like Wlad's style but, he beats everyone ( in recent years), he wins every round, he wins every minuite of every round, he knocks out or forces to quit almost every opponent,
If he was american he would be aclaimed as the greatest heavyweight of all time......

Which funnily enough, he is, in most countries that are not america.....

Dawson is overrated, no doubt. Furthermore, he dominates (if that's what you want to call it) what I consider to be very close to the weakest and softest weight class in boxing, only his domination hardly compares to that of Wladimir's at heavyweight, which I consider a bit deeper and more competitive than lightheavyweight at this time. I strongly foresee Andre Dirrell moving up and outclassing Dawson sometime in the near future. Exit Dawson, enter Klitschko.
