Since your from Chicago, I guess you believe that Wlad could beat the Bears Brian Urlacher's ass in street fight?
The first flush right hand would put Urlacher down and out... quite possibly with permanent consequences, such as brain damage. Wlad would most likely break his hand though.
Of course Urlacher would stand there with his hands behind his back and wait for the big punch? I mean why would you expect him to even consider fighting back aganist the greatest street fighter of all time?
Ok, so Urlacher would rush in, just like when he stops running backs, and eat a left hook or a jab. The first would KO him, the latter would at least stun him...
If he knows whats good for him he would just run at mere sight of Wlad! I'm shaking at just the thought of Wlad myself!
Wlad is getting more and more respect. There used to be plenty of haters running around this forum claiming Wlad would lose by KO to any random heavyweight because his chin is glass. Dont see too many of them anymore
Just because someone is an amazing athlete, doesn't mean that they are a good fighter. I am sure that some of them can fight there asses off... and I know for a fact that a shitload of them can't fight for ****. I have trained MMA in Columbus and we have had some Pro Football players come in to train with us before. To be honest... every single one that I saw was lost in a fight. You can't push your way around against a good fighter. You better either know how to strike and defend takedowns, or be able to take someone down, hold them down, defend subs, and be effective on top (unless of course they are hiding their JJ black belt in their back pocket). You don't learn how to fight by playing football. One of my good friends who I graduated with was drafted by the Jets. The man ran a 4.3 40yd dash in SLEET! Amazing athlete. Fast, strong, ect... We boxed for the hell of it in his backyard and I knocked him out in about 30 seconds. Out cold. Once again... being a great athlete doesn't mean that you are a great fighter... let alone when you are talking about them fighting against another great athlete, who actually fights for a living. I am not saying that there aren't any football players who might just knock a professional boxers dick in the dirt in a street fight, because I am sure that it could happen. I am saying that just pretending like some football player would kick Klitschko's ass, just because they are good on the football field.. or they are strong and fast is pretty ignorant. You don't need to take me anywhere, and I don't need to go watch them practice football. I have had hands on experience with pro football players, great athletes, olympic wrestlers, ect... I know what I'm talking about, and these were real fight situations, not watching someone play football.
BTW, ask around about the look on Urlacher's face when he nearly got his ass kicked by Bas Rutten. Rutten accidentally stepped on Urlacher's foot at a charity event. Bas apologized, and Urlacher said "I don't need your sorry". Then Rutten still trying to be kind as it was a charity event and he didn't want to fight there, offered to buy Urlacher a beer, at which point Urlacher told him "I don't need your beer". Bas then said "Ok, now you've got to stop", and walked away. Urlacher said "Do you want to go outside?"... Bas turned around laughing at this point, and said "Yes".... at that point security got ahold of Urlacher and told him that they were saving his life, told him who Bas was... and then Urlacher hurried over to him and apologized.
He sure got lucky there. Two more anecdotes here: Jim Brown was challenging Ali for a fight, telling the public how he would crush him, etc. Ali laughed it off at first but Jim persisted, so Ali let Jim hit him. Shortly after, Brown dropped the entire idea. Ali easily slipped a succession of punches Jim threw and apparantly he didn't like his chances anymore without taking a single hit. One involving Sonny Liston: William Afflis, billed as Dick the Bruiser in the 50's & 60's was a 250lbs former lineman with the Green Bay Packers and was noted for his loud mouth and swaggar, as well as spectacular physical strength. This content is protected In or around 1962, Sonny Liston caught up to him in Las Vegas and beat the **** out of him in broad daylight outside of the Thunderbird casino, reputedly for having made comments inprint about Boxing's heavyweights that Liston perceived as less than flattering. The story was that Liston beat him into a corner outside the Thunderbird of the building and just kept slapping him in the face until he tearfully apologized and said "I just wanna go home now". Now i'm not saying Klitschko is an Ali or a Liston, but i think many people underestimate just how incredibly fast and powerful most professional boxers are, not to mention a huge mother****er like Klitschko. I can't find the video anymore, but there was a video showing him working the pads. You could just see Steward physically being moved back and the speed of the punches was incredible. Imagine that with bare hands. If he lands as much as a single punch that guy will either quit or get knocked out; probably the latter. I remember some guy here on ESB claiming he had a 20% punchers chance against Wlad because he weighed 220lbs.
Its rediculous to assume that a good big and powerful football player can hold his own, or even defeat, a boxer who does nothing but improve his ability to hurt someone with his fists, and not get hit in the process. When you specialize in hitting someone, hard, and not getting hit back, you get very good at it, especially when compared to some oether athlete who is not a boxer. I think even the Guinn, Barrett, and TOS level heavyweight fighters would absolutely beat the HELL out of the best, biggest and most baddass profootball player out there in a boxing match. Maybe thrash most of them in an all out street fight, as well.
Shockey has a hard enough time making it through a single football game without being injured and quiting... let alone a fight against someone who fights for a living.
