Wlad being in there is fair enough. I'm not a fan of his fighting style but he has been very dominant over an extended period now and has mastered a style which works very well for him.

I don't know if Shane and Donaire should be in there though.

why not? Donaire has also been dominant over an extended period and add to that he has a win over Darchinyan who was a top10 p4p fighter.

Donaire has fought a bunch of nobodies since his ko over Vic. The competation was there, as Darchinyan proved by taking on a murderers row, but Donaire's competition has been woeful.

He has the talent but, for me, he has to prove it against worthy opponents. Whatever you say about the state of the Heavyweight division, Wlad is the clear #1 and has fought all-comers pretty much. Has Donaire been the clear #1 in his weight class for a long period? Has he fought the beat fighters? No.

How can this be possible if you always fought in 1 weight class? Think :deal

I think this is bull**** in the sense that Chad Dawson is easily one of the most skilled opperators in the game, and he fights at light heavy.

Haye, while making some serious mistakes at times, also shows great skills and abilities while being a relatively big man.

The Ring have thrown Paul Williams out of the P4P rankings. Kinda harsh to be honest.

Wlad should be a lock for top 5 in my opinion.

Wlad moved up again after Williams got thrown out. He got number ten spot after Dawson lost to Pascal, then moved up to nine when Mosley drew Mora, then to eight when Williams was thrown out.

Realistically, how much can Wlad move up through other fighters above him being thrown out for losses, subpar performances or retirements rather on his own achievements?

Wlad has moved up to 7th or 8th. Vitali is 12th now. One or two losses from other top pound for pound fighters, and Vitali's in too.

It doesn't matter. The P4P ranking system has been irrelevant and a cancer to boxing for years. The P4P ranking systems are biggest reason why no good fights get made nowadays, because pussies (Floyd, RJJ, Calzaghe, take your pick) like to hide behind their P4P ranking and say this or that fighter is "no good" or "who is he". Ring magazine takes themselves to serious.

    It's meaningless.

No reflection on Wlad though. Congrats.:good
