    You're either German, crazy, or both. Wlad is nowhere near, not even close, to being an top ATG HW that is just total nonsense. :patsch

    Saying that he'd give him a serious fight implies that the fight would be competitive. I'd like to know why it is you think the fight would be competitive. What tactical approach could Chagaev take to make it a fight? Like I've said before, nobody in the division is gonna be able to outbox Wladimir Klitschko. What's Chagaev gonna do? He can't take the sniper approach like he did against Valuev (let your hands go and get out immediately) cuz Wladimir's too fast and cuts off the ring too well. He's not gonna outjab Klitschko, whose jab is like a power punch. Is he gonna try and make it a brawl? You think Wladimir Klitschko, a gold medalist with 50 some odd fights won't be able to adapt to that? If Chagaev was some aggressive bomber maybe he'd have a chance but he's not. I'm telling you that this fight would look similar to Klitschko/Ibragimov except Wladimir would pull the trigger more cuz of the potential media backlash.

    povetkin is a very big test for wlad.

    it's the biggest fight since the peter fight.

    Probably the fact that Chagaev seems to have a good chin, and hence some will think he can take what Wladimir gives him and beat Wladimir by eventually wearing him down.
    I don't think Chagaev will beat Wladimir, I think Wladimir would stop him.

    The fight would definitely be competitive. By Chagaev's very nature, he would not go down without a fight like Ibragimov did. I believe Chagaev would adopt a very aggressive approach, trying to get around the jab with fast in-and-out attacks. This may not be enough to win, but it would certainly be a competitive fight, no doubt.

    And if Chagaev does manage to land one solid shot to the chin at any point throughout the 12 rounds, then of course it could go his way. Wlad has been stopped by 3 inferior fighters to Chagaev.

    There is no doubt that Wladimir is in the Top 20. Listen people he beat a 260 pound pro heavyweight with one freaking hand (ray austin)!!!!!!!! Also that guy that he beat with one hand went the distance with sultan ibragimov who alot of people were saying was going to be Wladimir. No doubt in my mind and everyone elses mind that Wladimir is a top 20 heavyweight.

    Who would you have Wladimir in there ahead of? I would have those 20 at least ahead of him on a pound-for-pound basis, but fair enough if you disagree. I can see the argument either way for Wlad against Bowe, Norton or Walcott. But there's no way he dents the top 10-15 IMO.

    PACFAN84, why do you rate Lewis higher than Hopkins?
    Hopkins beat Trinidad, De La Hoya, Glen Johnson, Tarver, Winky Wright since 1995 (and have lost very close decisions to Taylor and Calzaghe at 40+ age). He was much older than all of these fighters. By the way, 3 names (Trinidad, De la Hoya, Wright) are in your top-20 list.

    Lewis beat obviously lesser competition (no one name in your top 20) and retired at 37.

    Also, Wright beat Mosley twice and Trinidad (3 names from your list) and isn't top-10, let alone top-3. Why?:think

    As I said before, from LEWIS down to MORALES, there isn't much at all between the fighters. I would put them all part of the same "tier". They're all great fighters and all closely matched in my eyes. I have Lewis slightly higher than Hopkins just as a matter of personal preference based on my own opinion of their abilities.

    For instance, I do believe Lennox is one of the top 3 heavyweights in history h2h. I do not believe Hopkins is one of the top 3 middleweights in history h2h.

    Lewis may not have beaten as many big names as Hopkins, but his resume at heavyweight is still very good. The only guy he never fought was Bowe, but we all know why that was.


    I don't rate Winky's wins over Mosley that highly because I don't think Mosley was comfortable fighting up at 154. His win over Trinidad was superb, but I don't think Tito was ever the same after Hopkins. They were still great wins, but not impressive enough to justify a top 10 placing IMO. Losses to guys like Simon and Vasquez hurt him in a p4p sense.

    Resume is not the only thing taken into consideration when making a pound-for-pound list by the way. It is probably the single most important factor, but not the only one.
