Cmon, Usyk could certainly beat Wlad and wasn't nearly as flawed but u don't even give someone as talented and powerful as Wlad a chance ? He has historical experience against lefties like Ibragimov.

I personally have Wlad rated number 8-10, but i can see the argument for him being 5-7 as well.

Boxrec BTW on a updated list that has him 6-7 and it's been way for a while.

Perhaps this was the start of the Boxrec algorithm before they developed it in 2021.

The funny thing about the Klitschko brothers is that Lennox Lewis could have beaten them both on the same night. After Lewis got done slaughtering Vitali he would have been able to beat Wladimir K like after only a 15 minute rest between fights, would no doubt have won by ko.

Personally I disagree with the statement about age and shape. I believe Lewis had bulked up to have better punch resistance and more punching power and that the experience of his career had really settled in so he was probably the best he ever had been for that fight. Obviously the win sounds more glorious if it was this old and out of shape version but then again does it? If Lewis strategically bulked up and had been improving all his career then that's also pretty glorious.

Regardless of that we agree that both Klitschkos would have suffered consecutive ko/tko losses on that night which is very far from the wildest opinions that people have about the events of that night.

 Lewis could have fought Wlad anytime he wanted to. Wlad in fact called him out a few times. Lewis studiously igored him.

Looking at the way he collapsed on his stool after the 6th, I doubt that, lol.

I think Lewis being out of shape may have been a bit overstated but he was clearly heavier than earlier years he was weighing more like 245 pounds. It kind of helped him because it probably gave him a bit more power and strength which is what helped cause the cut on Vitali and to wrestle with him.

    If anything it's understated...

Lewis hadn't fought for a year, was overweight and by all accounts wasn't training as he should've been either.

It's an inconvenient truth that Lewis on his boxing deathbed beat a virtually prime Vitali - I don't see any point in trying to pretend Lewis was in great shape (and "best he ever had been" in the post you quoted is patently absurd).. Lewis was just that my much better than Vitali.

Lewis against the better brother, Wlad, might've been more interesting but we'll never know

I agree it wasn't his best shape but someone who wasn't in any kind of shape wouldn't have been able to throw the punches Lewis was landing that night or taking that night. So I agree it's a bit overstated.

But yes there are also too many excuses used for Vitali that night on flip side. Even though he was edging it on the cards Lewis won it with the brutality of his punches and his accuracy.

I agree on Wlad I have said before Lewis wouldn't be able to take the punches against Vitali he took against Wlad. If he took that much against Wlad I don't know he if would have been able to withstand it and he likely would have hit the canvas at least.

This kind of thing is always fun to speculate.

But top 5 is too high.

    There’s just too many negatives.
