What's with your irrational hatred of Tua? I am indifferent to the fighter but I do acknowledge that yes he did have a good set of skills and intangibles like his cardio, punching power and chin. Your estimation of him being "****" or a "bum" is way below his skillset or what he accomplished in his career and his record.
That last line of of yours proves that you have some sort of strange personal anger towards the man.

Nova schooling Baer. Nova is the only man to stop Baer besides Joe Louis.

Nova's jab and lead left hook is beautiful, so much power and accuracy. He is great at moving in out and of range, stepping inside the longer Baer and getting right back out. Great uppercut and right lead as well. Nova also shows some great durability, poise, and defense aganst Baer's attacks.

I would favor Nova over Rahman for sure. Nova reminds me alot of Oleg actually but certianly a better set of whiskers.

Well - That's one way of looking at just one of the considerations mentioned - in a 'cup-half-full' sense. But, not all of Joe's opposition were members of the 'Bum of the Month' Club, were they?

They could have been, they weren't bums, they where tough men but very limited.look at max Baer, his punches where so telegraphed it was unreal,if he fought a Tyson Lewis Holmes Ali etc he wouldn't land a punch and he would be ko'd in short time

Baer could be crude and inconsistent but his reach, stamina, durability, awkwardness and power makes him a threat to anybody who doesn't bring their absolute best A+ game.

Those guys should beat him but doubtful it would be a quick KO. Baer/Tyson would look like the Ruddock fights, it would be an absolute war. And Baer would give Lewis one hell of a fight.

Because morons like you try to make Tua out to be more than he was.

As for Tuas skillset? what skillset?

Tua had absolutely no skills whatsoever, he had power and chin and thats it. And even his chin is overrated because your chin is only as good as the people who test it. Nobody tested Tuas chin, except Ike, who himself was untested.

Baer probably isn't the best example of a Louis opponent, not only on account of his lack of discipline and mercurial attitude to Boxing - perhaps, in part, due to the death of opponent Frankie Campbell, for which he was charged with manslaughter - but also due to him having pretty much lost all interest after defeat (to Braddock) in his first defence of the Title.

During a minor losing streak, following the Campbell tragedy, his looping, slow-motion windmill of a right, was pointed out to him as a shortfall. I think that even Jack Dempsey helped him try and develop a shorter, straighter right and, believe it or not, he could throw short rights with venom.

But Baer isn't referred to as a Clown Prince of Boxing for nothing. He was, in the end, more about living a glamorous lifestyle than being the Heavyweight Champion of the World.
