Wladimir Klitschko KNOCKS OUT Chagaev!

Both these men were outstanding amateurs. Klitschko was the 1996 Olympic super heavyweight gold medal winner in Atlanta. Chagaev was a two-time world amateur champion, a victory over the great Felix Savon being one of the highlights of his amateur career.

Chagaev is a very good fighter with chin like George Chuvalo. If he knocks Chagaev out it will be a huge victory. I think Vlad will win the fight because of his quickness, training, power, defense, etc., but Chagaev is a live opponent. Haye would be easily knocked out, but Chagaev will not be so easy.

 

I don't see Chagaev getting KO'd. He's a skilled, smart fighter with a lot of experience. Wlad by UD.

 

Could go the distance, but I will not be surprised if Vlad gets a late round TKO. This is a very interesting fight, dangerous of Vlad, or anyone. Chagaev is good fighter.

 

Chagaev fights like an amateur, in the sense that his game is tailored to the white part of his glove landing on his opponent.

Consequencly, his offensive is based around a high guard and a basic 1-2. His speed is average, but noticably slower than Klitschko with both hand and feet.

His power is decent, but he's no one punch KO artist, and he also doesn't appear to have the speed or offensive versatility to effectively land combinations.

His headmovement is good for contemporary standards, but he is by nature a come foward fighter, and it is unlikely that he has the tools or know how to be defensively savy enough to survive or win a decision.

It basically comes down to how much Chagaev is willing to risk, but even if he does fight extremelly aggressively, he will find Klitschko a difficult target, and likely begin to lose stamina and the will to win as Klitchko's jab begins to find it's place.

Considering Chagaev's lack of punching power, a KO is unlikely, and it is hard to see Chagaev winning a decision. His backfoot, defensive liabilities will more than likely not allow him to survive the decision, but it will ultimately be up to Klitschko who will choose whether or not to pull the trigger.

My prediction is a mid to late round TKO of Chagaev against a well chosen opponent where Klitschko attempts to make a statement to the world, and simeltaneously increase interest in his future fights.

 

It is a matter of timing if or when a knockout comes. Chagaev's chin is like George Chuvalo's, but he has good skills.

I think Vlad could break up Chagaev's skin from hard jabs and get TKO late.

 

**** all that amateur talk. Chagaev is average at best. Comparing 3 or 4, 2 minute rounds to a 12 round pro fight is irrelevant.

Ibriganov was a silver medal winner.

If Klitschko loses to THIS guy, it will be a massive upset.

 

Although I have Klitschko winning the fight, betting on the KO is a risky wager.

Ruslan is not overrated IMO... he's a tough, skilled, fairly mobile and somewhat defensive minded southpaw,,, not an easy guy to KO.

Closest previous oppnents?... a cross between Ibragimov (UD W) and Chris Byrd (KO W twice) [i.e. smaller but skilled, experienced lefties]

 

Wlad by boring UD. Or Chagaev swinging wildly in first few rounds a la Breewster vs Golota and catch Wlad a knock him out. Those are the two good posibilities.

 

Wlad will win by TKO round 8. Chagaev is a skilled southpaw fighter and can take punches very well.

 

im not sure he will get the ko..but from what i see from wlad if it had been haye this weekend..haye would be sleeping within 4.

 

Yes, Haye would have been an easy knockout for Vlad. The Haye supporters were fooled by Haye's diarrhea of the mouth.
