I think it is good to see two very professional - and respectful - men. In a broader landscape of toxicity, and an era where outrage pays $$$, it is good to see two guys go the other way. I will always respect guys like Klitschko and Joshua. They haven't sold themselves out for a dollar. Just two very respectful men who go about building a legacy.

AJ's defense looked good to me last night. His offense is tremendous.

Everything depends on how much Wladimir has left in the tank. I'd assume after such a long period of dominance, that stinker he put up against Fury was either due to him showing his age (very possible,) or him dealing with issues outside of the ring (his wife's mental health issues, uninspired training camp, etc.)

I'm going to give him the benefit of the doubt and assume it was just a bad night in the office. A focused and re-dedicated version of him should be able to beat Joshua. The experience level would be too much and I could see Anthony getting fatigued in the later rounds. This is a magnanimous step up in competition for AJ.

Now if the version of Wladimir who fought Fury shows up against AJ, I could see Joshua stopping him inside of 6 rounds. So it's really all predicated on what version of Klitschko shows up on fight night.

Agreed. How Wlad fights will be the deciding factor in how entertaining this fight will be.

Wlad wouldn't have fought anyone for 18 months by the time he fights Joshua in April.
AJ, despite not being tested enough, has still been busy. Every camp is beneficial, even if the fights themselves weren't overly.

That aside, AJ is so far improved from where he was back when Wlad used him for sparring that Wlad will be in for a shock when he faces him.
Only goes one way for me.

This will draw more coverage, ticket sales and ppv buys than Fury vs Wlad did

    IMO

It would have been even bigger if Wlad still had his belts.

They are hoping for IBF, WBA and Ring. Not confirmed yet though

Yeah, he knows AJ can get around 100,000 fans to buy tickets and get big PPV numbers from the UK and the US.

AJ wins it's a great win.

Wladimir wins it's possibly a great win, great logic there.

I think Wlad knows that this is his last chance for that final boost to his legacy. He's 41 years old, he can't wait anymore, Fury ****ed up his entire year and now there's this new star Joshua. Wlad doesn't have much to lose, he's getting paid a lot of money for this fight and if he loses he lost to a credible opponent while being over 40 years of age himself.

This is a high reward low risk fight for Wlad legacy wise. If he beats Joshua and Joshua goes on to beat everybody Wlad probably cements himself as top 5-10 HW ATG.

    Staredown means nothing.

If there's anything to read in to, it's that Wlad's sparred with AJ a good amount and has been aggressive in making this fight. He must believe that whatever flaws he found in AJ then are still there and that he's still good enough to exploit them.

A lot of time has passed since then, so we'll see.

Most definitely because they both have a country behind them. Crazy thing is I'm going to be in London to see some family 3 days after the fight. Contemplating if I should go early and catch the fight but it'll cost me a fortune to change my flight and get tickets for that.
