He gassed out mentally, not physically. Same **** happened to him in teh Peter fight but Steward was able to pull him across the finish line in that one.

Every time he's met with expreme pressure the man acts as if he's gassed as he begins to break down mentally.

Well I don't know for a fact if you talk to them or not but I will say this:

Wlad's Jab is the best in the division right now and I do agree it is the best jab since Larry Holmes. His straight-right is also very impressive as well as his short-left-hook that he likes to throw off the jab. His punches also have good speed for a man his size.

Now as far as what happened to Wlad in the Brewster fight, there could be many reasons.

Wlad could have simply gassed out. He was throwing punch after punch from the first round very hard. He conserves more now and mixes up his shots.
Wlad was also moving around a lot in that fight, specifically before he got caught in the 3rd round.

Wlad also got tagged very hard in the 3rd round, in the first minute, that seemed to stun him. That can zap your energy as well, specifically fighters that don't like to be pressured and come undone when they are hurt. The Heart can speed up, blood pressure rises and you gas out faster. You need to stay very relaxed in there. That's not a knock on Wlad's "heart" though because he certainly has that.

Then in the 4th, Wlad dropped Brewster and unloaded bombs when Brewster got up in order to try to finish him off. Becoming anxious, if he was, to KO your opponent, especially if you are getting tired and are worried about your opponents power, which Wlad did seem to be on some level...can also start to deflate you faster. It really depends on the fighter. Certain fighters this isn't a problem for, but many others it is.

Then in the 5th, again, he was unloading shot after shot with authority/power. Big Men like that tend to get tired faster when they do that, especially when the are already tiring out...wouldn't you say?

Now going into the second fight, he didn't try to move around like a Welter-weight like he did in the first fight. He stood his ground more. Keeping an eye on how far he would move around. Less movement to conserve your energy. It's hard moving around a 245 pound body.

Now if something was in his system that caused the fatigue, well, like what?
Because this can go into a touchy subject if it is that simple to throw around the "he was drugged" card.
If that is a possibility there is also a possibility given the nature of the sport that it could have been from a legal or even illegal "substance" that he took on his own. Or maybe there was a "foreign" substance that was put in his system unknowingly. I don't know. But PED use is also rampant in sports and certain drugs do have harmful side-effects. That's what cyclists found out with certain drugs like EPO. Many riders have gotten sick and even died from EPO use. Dizziness, Fatigue sets in, then they pass out. That was one case I remember hearing about with a Spanish rider.
And then there is a list of drugs that are taken that have negative side-effects. Even insulin is used in by some athletes...specifically when someone is using HGH I hear. Insulin can cause many dangerous reactions.

But with Wlad, it can be very simple. He is a very large man, 6'6, 245, and was throwing powerful shots while also moving around the ring with that large body from the start of round 1. There was some pressure applied by Brewster and eventually Brewster caught Wlad in the 3rd. Things seemed to change somewhat. By the 4th, Brewster was hurt and Wlad unleashed on a figher that he saw was hurt and knew he needed to get him out of there because Brewster was a tough figher who could punch and keep coming. Wlad wasn't able to get him out of there and Brewster got his short rest. Next round, Wlad starts to hammer away again...and eventually gets caught by a big punch and Brewster took over.

Big Man fighting at a high pace got taken out because he gassed out and got caught with some big shots that buckled his mind.

By the second fight, and not counting if that was the same Brewster in there, Wlad adjusted his style/tactics and controlled the fight thus allowing the ability to set the pace which allowed his stamina and confidence to remain stable. Brewster on the other hand, got dismantled.

    Wlad's a good fighter. I like him.

Gassing doesn't explain life threatening blood sugar levelsor the blue color of his lips and skin. I am a former triathlete and see athletes bonk from exhaustion all the time, but whatever happened to Wlad that night was different. Besides, he runs a 10k uber 40 minutes, unbelievable stamina for a 240 pound man.

Some sort of metabolic imbalance, maybe a reaction to some food, but something other than gassing from effort. Wlad had his best round against Peter in the 12th and that fight was probably harder than the first four rounds against Brewster.

So then we would have to move this to the possibility of PED or some sort of drug that was ingested or injected that he didn't know was going to be harmful or took the risk. Or food like you say or a mix of both. But I'm not an expert on this.

Wonder if this could be brought into question:

    insulin, food intake, exercise....

I believe that Wlad was in some kind of medical condition, there is enough signs for that. What exactly caused that, and if there was any foul play involved, is pure speculation.

This is why I believe it was the sugar levels combined with over doing it in the first few rounds. I don't know if anyone poisoned him & helped create that condition but it wasn't like Brewster was landing punches like he did against Golota.
