A pound a week. Perfectly possible with proper diet and exercise. Nothing special really, if you look around natural bodybuilding sites/blogs. People do it all the time, "just" needs tons of dedication and discipline.

Haye didn't gain 30 in a year, but in very short time (like 2, max. 3 months), and had this "bodybuilder with wax body" picture taken that now floats around if you google him.

However, looks like he realized bulking up like this made him slow, as he got lighter afterwards, not heavier.

 

B.S. - members of the camp insult the other fighter all the time. A lot of times they show more respect after the fight, but not always. These guys are human if they don't like someone, it can show through even though they're professional
