in germany as part of german promoters tv contracts the tv companys insist on not only drug testing , but that it is randomn drug testing night or day training for a fight or between fights and is carried out by the german anti doping agency, a state of the art labatory.

the uk has testing but nowhere near as rigourous as this and some boxers do not get tested for 2 years at a time.
albeit you test positive for recreational drugs or performance enhancing drugs in the uk you are banned 1 year for recreational drugs and 2 years for performance enhancing.

2nd offense banned for life.

but compared to america where you have 52 individual doping commisions and sentances when caught range from absolutley **** all in roy jones v richard hall fight to 3 months for james toney for a second offense and you only get tested in a blue moon or high profile fight and never out of competiton or randomly makes the european programme much stricter and better.
