    WBO doesnt count NEWBIE
defenses over derrick jefferson, charles shufford, jamile mccline, 44 year old ray mercer, botha
do not get the same credit as ali vs frazier, norton, shavers, spinks
    or
    holyfield vs bowe,tyson, moorer, foreman,

so i guess we have to start recognizing heavyweight champions of the WBO
    Damiani
    Mercer
    Morrison
    Michael Bent
    Henry Akinwande
    Herbie Hide
    Corrie Sanders
    Shannon Briggs
    Sultan Ibragimov

    SORRY

    WBO doesnt count

Consider for a minute that the guy Morrison beat for that WBO belt won the lineal, WBA, and IBF title in his very next fight after losing to Tommy.

Nice job of excluding top fighters like Wlad himself, Brewster, and Chris Byrd from that list, but hey, whatever fits the agenda, right?

Holyfield vs the above competition = 5-3 with a knockout loss. And one of those fights was a decision win over a 42 year old, while another was a loss against a chinny light-heavyweight followed by a rematch win.

So Wlad doesn't get any credit for fighting the best available opposition for coming up to a decade, yet Holyfield gets lots of credit for clearly losing a trilogy against a guy who never did anything - except what? Beat prime Holyfield twice and shamelessly duck Lennox Lewis.

    :hat

an obvious fishing trip by the thread starter. :rofl

maybe once he stops fighting fat sloppy turds or heavy bags then he will merit some praise, till then he is just in wait until Haye arrives to knock him out

Lewis was the WBC, WBA and IBF champion. He was the Ring Champion and the linear champion. Wlad is a unified belt holder and Ring Champion he is not or has he ever been the linear champion.

Tyson, Douglas, Holyfield, Bowe, Holyfield, Moorer, Foreman, Briggs, LEWIS

    Learn a little history son.

And the WBO meant **** all at the time Lewis was champ.:hi:

Ruiz is terrible but Sanders is a "seasoned pro"???:patschNo matter how shitty Ruiz might be he still beat fighters BETTER and fighters that have beaten Sanders. Before the Wlad fight Sanders was considered half retired and nothing more then a gimme fight for Wlad. And besides Wlad who has Sanders ever beaten??? Al Cole??? Bobby Czyz??? And he was stopped by the only decent fighter he ever fought in Rahman and he was also iced in 2 rounds by Nate ****ing Tubbs.

Ruiz on the other hand was the WBA champion and had wins over Holyfield(who was past it) and Kirk Johnson. Ruiz also went on to beat guys like Rahman, Oquendo and Golota.

RJJ being a Light Heavyweight means **** all because he was fighting at heavyweight.

Impressive! Wow! Time flies. I remember like it was yesterday his first title fight against Byrd. It was a brutal beating. Not many managed to watch this fight back then. It was not shown on US TV.

WBO wasnt real title when Wlad won it first time.

Still he has an impressive 9-1 record in real title fights.

Whenever there have been those rare matches between belt claimants, why does the WBO fighter have the superior record in those fights?

Ali didn't just fight the Fraziers, Foremans, Nortons and Shavers of the world, he also fought the Wepners, Bugners and 9 fight veteran Spinks too.

I think it's a good acheivment, Hopkins gets credit for having the most middleweight title defences ever even though he only had the IBF belt for years and fought some shitty fighters during that time. I don't see why Wladimir Klitschko shouldn't get the same treatment, he's clearly the top man in the division and has been since 2006, and the WBO is no worse than any other the other big 3 these days, top fighters constantly fight for it now, Manny Paquiao, pound for pound number 1, WBO welterweight title holder for example.
