The difference is that Hopkins beat ALL of the shitty fighters he fought @ 160 while Wlad gets KO'ed by BUMs, STIFFs, Tomato Cans, and No Hopers...

This is a dumb comparison. Chagaev was STILL HW champion when he fought Wlad. No belt on the line because WBA was going to settle who is a champ, Chagaev or the guy whom he beat for it Valuev, in the COURT:patsch
Basically the jury said we like Valuev more so he is the champion even though Chagaev never lost it. BULL**** WBA crap.:patsch:patsch:patsch

And Roy Jones was STILL the WBA HW champ when he fought Tarver.

@ the end of the day, belts me less than squat and Klitschko is just a beltholder...

anyone who thinks wlad is the greatest because he's the biggest, strongest, smartest, play it safe ***** in the current heavyweight landscape needs to seriously go jump off a building. other heavyweight crops take a massive doo doo on the current one. a prime wlad wouldn't last too long in the very early 90's, **** your opinion.

Byrd was not high rated at the time he held the WBO. Sanders was not ranked at all when Wlad faced him. Actually, he was a semi-retired boxer who had three fights in three years that did not last very long. During that time there was an undisputed and linear champion. It meant nothing, nor did his opponents.

Chagaev beat Valouev to win the WBA title. Vlad beat Chagaev, but WBA gave took title away and gave it to Valouev as a gift! Chagaev won title in ring, Valouev did not. Vlad beat Chagaev and won WBA title and Ring Mag title. Vlad has IBF, WBO,IBO, Ring Mag title and actually won WBA title in ring, not by gift. Haye ran from Valouev, threw very few punches, less than Johnson against Vitali, was given decision by criminals. Vitali and Vlad scared Haye so much that Haye broke a signed contract with Vlad and ran. Haye broke an implied contract with Vitali and ran.

Vlad won 1996 Olympic gold medal, superheavyweight division. World military championship, International title, etc.

Vitali won world military championship, International championship, WBO, WBC, regained title after 4 year lay-off, nobody has done that. Vitali was also a six time world kickboxing champion, both pro and amateur. He would have also won gold medal if not for kickboxing injury to foot, which he was being treated for.

tony thompson has beaten absolutely no one of note....he is about as average as you can get
chambers? sounds like you have been reading to many boards...chambers is better than most, but he lost every round...hes too damn mall to fight a guy this size....
chagev- for a guy thats been fighting pro for 12 years, he has only fought 27 times. not sure why anyone thinks much of this guy....his first 20 or so fights were against absolute garbage. his big step up was in 2006 agaisnt cruiserweight rob calloway. then more average c level guys like sprott and vladimir virches. Fights Ruiz for the WBA junk belt and wins a boring ass dullfest. squeaks by in another horrible fight with valeuv, boring fight with 41 year old matt skelton, then the WBAs buddy, carl davis drummond...
then doesnt win a round against wlad....no matter how you slice any of these guys up...its painful to watch....
you say stuff about tubbs, ruddock ect...but i remember tubbs winning a real title when it counted..and ruddock putting guys to sleep for 5 minutes... whens the last time we saw a great knock out from anyone these days? after watching wlads KO, which was pretty good...its been so long since anyone has seen one of those in a big heavyweight fight it got more attention that normal.
Sam Peter is hard to gauge..hard to see him being competitive with a guy like ruddock...when james toney, a former middle weight ot of shape lard ass took peter the distance 2 times and didnt look half bad .
Heavyweight division is as bad as most people say....but it wouldnt be that bad if the best fought the best...

    WLad vs Haye
    Vitali vs Haye
    Vitali vs Valeuv
    Wlad vs Valeuv
    Peter vs Povetkin
Peter vs Arreola ( yes, adamek vs arerreola will be nice)
    Pov vs Arreola

Wlad vs Chambers had to happen because there was a question with
chambers, but hes too small and didnt have a B plan

    but we get stuck with
    vitali- kingpin
    Haye-Ruiz
    Ruiz vs Chagev or meehan
    vitali vs sonowski

He wasn't a champ when he moved all the way down to 175. He was no longer a HW. Plus he lost like 3 time after he won the title. Chagaev never lost a fight before fighting Wlad.

As for Wlad being just another belt holder, now thats just pure hating. He has 2 belts plus the Ring belt, if thats just another belt holder then i don't know what itsn't.

Nay Sayer is here to Nay Say. He's not going to do anything but argue with you no matter how credible his argument is. Just thought I'd let you know it's pointless to discuss anything with him. :yep

The difference is, he is not undisputed or linear champion. His WBO defences are about as meaningless as Audleys WBF.

There is a huge difference here. Every other recognised champion has either been linear or undisputed at some point, Wlad has never had that, he has been a paper titlist and unified beltholder.

I'm not knocking his achievement as such, but you cant compare it to the title fights of Lewis and further back.

In terms of genuine title fights, and even here this is being a little lax, then you could perhaps go from Ibragimov.

But realistically, he has never had a genuine HW championship title fight.

Of course the WBO does NOT count.
Lennox Lewis was the world champion when Wlad had that title.

Is anyone here prepared to say that Lewis wasn't champion ?

He is the ring belt owner, thats all that matters to me atm in the heavyweight division.

He is the rightful owner of the WBA aswell, but Sauerland had to strip it off Chagaev to keep it in house.
