None of the belts mean that much, why is one more worthless than the others?? There 4 main ones are all about level imo, the only one that really is worth something is the ring belt

Im sure people like bradley, pavlik, lopez, calderon, martinez, pac etc place some value on their wbo belt, as much as others do for the other 3 (apart from the ring of course)

Well sort of yes.. The second best in the division next to Wlad is Vitali.. So in that sense I agree, but that fight is never going to happen. Also Lewis did manage to beat the men who I ( and many others ) felt were the best of his era, however Chris Byrd, John Ruiz and Wlad were all worthy contenders/belt holders in the early 2000's who he could have faced but didn't..... Of course, this does not hurt his legacy that he never met those guys, but still..

In all fairness, Floyd Patterson and Max Schmeling both gained recognition as champions by winning the title in vacant fashion, as a result of their predecessor retiring. Pretty much the same way that Wlad has done, and nobody seems to question their status as lineal champions.. Therefore, if we're going to assign lineal status to Patterson and Schmeling then the same considerations should probably be made for Wlad. I realize that there are a few plastic trinckets still floating around out there, but Holmes never unified all of them either, and in a time when there were even fewer sanctioning bodies..

I'm surprised the thread title didn't say, "Another Fun Klitschko Fact" in the spirit of Widdow. I always have liked Vitali's style and fights, as they have never changed, but Wladimir's safe-style has really turned me against him lately. I've always liked Wlad and used to be a big fan, but he's seriously boring the hell out of me. More Vitali, less Wlad.

You're comparing a time when there was one belt holder or belt, to now when there are 3 (or 4, depending on how you think it goes).

You can't just say "oh, Wlad's lineal" while Vitaly and Haye both have belts.

Someone has to hold the lot to start the whole lineal thing off again.

    Simple really.

    - Holmes was lineal because of who he beat, not because he unified all the belts. Same reason Foreman then Shannon Briggs became lineal champs.

    No it's not at all.

I repeat Wlad has not faced THE BEST the division has to offer.

mmmm, now other than Wlad who's the other monster in the division?:think
