This is not going to be an easy one for Wlad.

Out of all contenders out there, Povetkin is probably the one with the best chane of beating Wlad.

he's good. he has a lot of offensive skill (handspeed, fluid combinations) but his lack of experience and defensive ability is gonna kill him against wladimir. but povetkin does not have heavy hands at all. the lack of power is starting to show up a little bit more now. top 5 hw sill imo. futre beltholder if wlad doesn't completely ruin him.

id only pick wlad and your boy over him

Yep, your probably right. Povetkin will make the mistake of trying to box with Wlad and will find himself knocked out or stopped in the late rounds, the 8th is my guess. As I said before, Povetkin's only chance is to make it a street fight with Wlad, not a conventional one, where noone in the whole division has a chance of winning a boxing match against Wlad.

Povetkin needs to get rough with Wlad, plain and simple, Peter put Wlad through hell to win, based on aggression and toughness alone. The just turned 25 yearold very raw Peter almost pulled it off early and then later in the 10th when he had Wlad hurt, but the bell saved Wlad from being finished off. He needs to fight like Peter, rough and awkward, if he beats Wlad he will prove many wrong and gain a ton of fans as well, best of luck too him.

i give peter and maybe valuev a better chance. povetkin is huge longshot. too hittable and u can't let wlad put his hands too much. even some of his advisors are against this fight. if he had good power, it would be more intriguing.

are you serious? he's facing a young prospect with good stamina and pop.. lately he fought beaten down fighters with some fuel left in the tank.... but Povetkin is young and hungry and is ready to prove that he can be a legitimate champion. I'm more of a Klit fan but still... easy? hell no.
I expect Wlad to pull the win but how much will does he have at this point in his career?

    Sad, but true.

So much more coherent and rational.

Both have that loud, boisterous quality, but the stalin song prevails in the areas of cogency and originality.

Povetkin is the next mandatory, I have no problem at all with Wlad fighting him next.

What's overhyped about a guy who participated in 15 tournaments including the olympics since 2001 and won every one of them with one exception, where he ended second? Who beat top10 ranked fighters in only his 15th pro match? Who legitly won the tournament to become the mandatory challenger? Who throws 70 punches a round with excellent technique and handspeed? Who has already shown determination and heart to overcome a hard start and wasn't bothered by a cut?

If Wlad beats Povetkin, he would only need to beat Valuev (or Chagaev) and Haye to clean the division. Someone like Virchis, Tua, Rahman would also be a nice win. He already beat Peter, but if he can beat him again then that would be great. But the main opponents are Povetkin, Valuev and Haye.

You can throw out anything he has done before he turned pro,,, that equates to nothing in the pro's just ask fraudly.. people have him ranked over peter on this board and some think he can take wlad lol,,,, that is overhyped. People on here call peter fat? take at look at povektin he looks like the pilsbury doughboy. He may have some handspeed and technique but he has no pop whatsoever.
