So Suge... The IBF picks Potvetkin. I agree there are better out there. Are you saying, because there are better fighters out there for Wlad to fight, he should say NO to Povetkin and give up the belt?

that would make no sence at all!:-( :huh

What do you mean excuses? It sounds like the only way you're satisfied is if Klitschko has Ruiz murdered to he can fight Valuev, or physically drag Chagaev into the ring.

And doing nothing is not an option either. The winner of Valuev-Ruiz will fight Chagaev somewhere at the end of this year, so he'd have to be inactive for almost a year, at which point you'll of course be claiming he ducks someone. Not to mention that he'd be stripped of the IBF title since Povetkin is his mandatory.

This is just straight-up bull****. Valuev was signed to fight Chagaev right after Klitschko knocked out Thompson. He didn't "wait" for that. Peter was already heading for Vitali at the same point. Check your facts first.

You just made a brilliant suggestion. Let's just put every boxing match where there is an underdog into exile, because who wants to see a formality anyway!

By the way, it's rather ironic to hear you say this. Povetkin has one of the greatest amateur records of all time, earned his spot in the top5 rankings and is a legit contender. Yet you don't want to see the fight because he has no chance.

However, when a mythical "Wlad vs anyone" comes up, you're the first to bring up "Well if Purrity, Brewster and Sanders could do it....."

I already said it, but i'll repeat it: because Povetkin is the best fighter he can fight right now. He threw 71 punches per round against Chambers and we saw that Wlad was bothered by Thompson's pressure. It's swarmer vs boxer puncher; an interesting fight. Yes, Povetkin could use more experience, but it still is the best fight available to happen. That's why i hope it happens.

But i guess you'd rather see Klitschko fight a shot Rahman or collecting for charity until mid-2009?

Toney is notorious for only doing enough to win against the "Batchelders of the world." Sad but true, he's working on it though.

I don't know if you are trying to be funny, or are completely full of ****. I do no such thing.

Povetkin will not swarm, he will be stuck on the end of a jab.

More "best available"...in other words, "Povetkin actually has a pulse, and it's mandated they fight. It will be tough because..."

You know what's funny about you KLIT-ites...??? You pretend to have so much faith in WLAD's competition...it's like talking to a Public Relations person.

I always have to listen to how good guys like Brock, Austin, and Thompson are...from people who don't believe it. Then after the fight, WLAD must have really been great to make such "world beaters" look so poor.

the good news is Wlad if he beats Povetkin will have 2009 almost completely free to fight whoever because he will have satisfied his mandatories and will not have another one until late 2009. Theoretically he could have 2 fights in 2009 before owing another mandatory defense. I hope the Valuev/Ruiz winner will be willing to unify in early 2009.

All true but I believe Wlad will go for the winner of Valuev vs. Ruiz anyway...........after he disposes of Povetkin.

Yup, here comes a sunday picnic in David Haye.

If I were Wlad I wouldn't even train...he should come in all fat, slow, and out of shape...you know, like Haye's impression of the whole HW division. A fat, slow, china chinned KLIT KOs Haye.

...and then Toney can go KO Haye in England for a nice little check. That will leave Haye at 0-2 vs. fat men.

I like Povetkin, but I think they are rushing him a bit. I'd rather he fight 3 or 4 more decent opponents. Can't see him winning this right now.

You're a ****ing assclown and a biased mother ****er.
Povetkin's been steamrolling through all of his competition thus far and is well deserving of the mandatory ranking, he's the obvious challenge for Wladimir right now and you're trying to say Wladimir - Povetkin is a bad fight?

Watch his amatuer pedigree, there aint but GOLD and wins in there, he's an obvious threat to any heavyweight out there and will shock a few doubters when he faces Wladimir, win or lose I think he will give Wladimir his hardest fight since losing to either Brewster/Sanders.

Instead of name calling, go watch the Eddie Chambers fight...he is not HW Champ material in the PROs. Calvin Brock was something before the PROs too. Big deal, this isn't the same thing.

The guy has just over 15 pro fights, and he didn't look good against Chambers...then decided to fight Sykes next. Which shows that he couldn't be bothered with a real fight.

How am I biased you got damned shitbag...??? I have nothing against Povetkin, and don't want to see him get hurt and exposed before his time.

If you have so much faith in Povetkin put some money on him, then bring your sorry ass back on this board when he gets stopped. I'd love to hear you say how tough he was, but WLAD was just too much for him...:-((

I have faith in Povetkins ability to compete with Wladimir Klitschko, which will result in a competetive heavyweight fight for once. Something we haven't seen in a while, at least not at this large scale.

Povetkin is not ready for this fight. While I agree he can be dangerous or competative, he will be competative for the 1st round or 2.....

Wlads size, power, and most of all EXPIERENCE will destroy Povetkin
