His extensive amatuer career is more experience than Peter and Brock had combined going into their fights with Wladimir.
To only think he will compete with Wladimir for 1 or 2 rounds is ludicrous my friend, Peter, Brock and even Thompson gave Wladimir technical problems, err.. well, Peter basically put pressure on him but Brock technically came closer than most of Wladimirs foes.

Watch this fight, I can promise you now that Povetkin will be competetive for at least 6 rounds, and I rarely make any promises.

Who care if he is competative for 2 rounds or 6...he will get KNOCKED OUT, PERIOD!

Styles make fights. Povetkin stays stright up. He is made for Wlad. Look at the fight with Chambers. If Chambers had more power, Povetkin would have been knocked out.

Well i just don't know what point you're trying to make. He's fighting the best opponent he can yet you're still crying about the situation. What WOULD satisfy you. If he dug up Joe Louis from his grave and fought him?
Tell me, what do you want him to do?

1, I care about a fight being competetive and whomever wins does not really matter to me, competetive fights is what boxing will be thriving on, specially heavyweight boxing.

2, You say styles makes fights yet you say "Look at the Chambers fight" for a recipe to Wladimirs supposed success with an upcoming fight against Alexander.

Last and not least, I would like to ask you about Ali vs. Cooper or even Ali vs. Banks before dismantling Sonny Liston. Not even the greatest heavyweight of all time looked sensational in all of his fights before fighting for the title, Archie Moore had to fight for 14-some years to get a title. Is this what you want to see with Povetkin or?!

This is the heavyweight fight to watch, Peter - Wladimir II will be a good one aswell, but your knowledge is flawed and the first steps to recover from a problem is admitting you've got one. There is no recipe to go by and claim that Povetkin will be totally outclassed, he's the best prospect there is in the heavyweight division :bbb

Povetkin is one of the better contendes in the division.

I'd pick him over most other guys out there.

But Wlad is gonna beat the living **** out of him.

    KEY WORD "PROSPECT"

he has 15 pro fights against a guy with 54 with a ko ratio of 90%. Team Povetkin should NOT be in such a hurry. Let him grow and mature.

Yes he is. Wlad must fight Povetkin, otherwise the IBF would strippe him. I am not suprised that this fight happens.

I dont know what is "FLAWED" in my thoughts. I know Wlad willl knock him out. I was saying look at the Chambers fight at how upright Povetkin stands.:deal That will be a disaster for him against Wlad.

Pretty good analysis. You can never tell with unbeaten prospects like Povetkin until you see them against the best. Although Povetkin is clearly no Ali, even just watching just Ali pre Liston it's obvious :good

    That is indeed true :thumbsup
But people are ruling out Povetkins chances like he's some kind of bum that has no experience and no talent, Povetkin is talented AND experienced. People fail to understand how heavy his amatuer pedigree is.
He also seems very confident in his ability to beat Wladimir, something Leon Spinks had going into the Ali fight.

We'll have to wait and see, this is a good fight for the division:good

Dangerous fight for Wlad my hats off to him, I think a fight with Peter would have been much safer for him and even should he lose to peter he would be 1-1 and probably get a good payday in a trilogy, my hats off to the man he is taking a big risk here in this fight.
IMO he will have to be at his very best to keep his titles.

Man, if you guys whould just stop viewing the world through KLIT colored eyes...

If he would have unified vs. Lyakhovich that would have been a great statement at the time.

If he would have fought Briggs in the garden like he was supposed to before trying to give him **** money.

Same thing with Toney, got out of it by offering him chump change, and entertainng no counter-offers.

If he would have fought Valuev when the guy was 49-0 that would have been huge, and made KLIT a hero in America. Obviously he gives a **** about us, as much as we give a **** about him.

A Peter rematch is something Sam is always trying to get, all WLAD has to do is tell VITKLIT that he's not fooling anybody...nobody wants to wait for you to get injured again.

IF he would have fought Holyfield (yes, Holy) before IGGY did. Holy is tall enough to hit him, and loves to fight on the inside. He is slower, but has the boxing skill and the power to KO KLIT, giving him a better shot than most.

He always takes the least in demand match. If there is someone that people think can beat him, that's who he should fight.

I think the toughest fights for him now are Peter and Valuev...it doesn't matter that they have fights scheduled...he's had a long time to make those fights happen. Especially since Peter's scheduled fight won't even happen.

Remember he chose Brock. Brock showed how much he belonged there by losing in the eliminator, in an attempt to get another shot. That's practically padding his record... voluntarily fight a guy who can't even win the eliminator to fight you. Shows how tough a match that was. If there is any doubt watch the replay.

...if you ask KLIT, he'll probably tell you Brock was the best out there. Too bad Uncle Manny said Briggs was the much harder fight for WLAD.

When he's ready to start fighting the people who actually have a shot of defeating him, I'll show him respect.

BTW, I don't think he should fight all of those names at this time, I was just illustrating how he doesn't select the toughest match-ups.

Soon he will pull the same ****...mandatory bum, voluntary bum...and so on.

The next act in this show is Povetkin followed by Haye. I don't want to call those guys bums, but their fate is already written. Haye is all mouth...and Povetkin isn't ready, and I can't say when or if he will be.

Brock was good. I personally thought he was the best contender out there for Wlad to fight. Other than that though, the mandatories have been pretty poor (Austin, Thompson although a top ten guy) but that isn't Wlad's fight. His fight with Iggy also is a solid win, unbeaten WBO champ for what it's worth that he could of avoided.

I give Wlad credit for unifying two of the belts, and actually trying to get something done unlike the other titlists of the past 5 years (Maskaev fighting Okhello LOL, Vitali fighting Danny Williams, and the WBA circus of Ruiz, Chagaev, and Valuev.

Povetkin is a great fight for him and if he can beat the WBA champ as well he easily is top 25 all time for me, maybe top 20. Saying Wlad should of fought Briggs, HOLYFIELD  etc is laughable.

are you seriously blaming wlad that he didn't want to kill the old man and that he chose brock, who can actually move for 12 rounds, over the living statue briggs?

 Briggs and Holyfield are horrible. Years ago both were much better (obviously Holyfield moreso) but Briggs was a one fight wonder against an overweight Liakhovich, and Evander "earned" his title shot by fighting Vinny Maddalone and Oquendo :bart

Briggs literally can't move his feet, and Holyfield's reflexes and everything about him is a tenth of what it was.
