    He became -the- champion in 2009 but i'd rate him after beating Ibragimov in 2008.

    You're setting a very high bar here.

    Of course, some won't start counting till he adds the WBC belt.




    The two-brother thing is something Louis didn't have to deal with.

    I would hold him to have been 'the man' at HW with a decent degree of certainty, since his brother last fought, which would make Pulev his fifth defence as clearly 'the man.'

    And given the lack of certainty as to which of the brothers would have prevailed, you could argue that since Byrd, he has been, if not 'the man' then #1 or # 2 for closing in on nine years.

    Not a satisfactory or usual accolade, but his sibling situation was hardly usual either.

    He fought 3x in 2012, I'm hoping he does the same this year. Jennings, Stiverne/Wilder winner, and one voluntary defense.
