First, way off on my nationality.

Im a yank, a redneck of sorts, raised in the second largest city in the USA, in the worlds most violent ghetto.

    Secondly...

Pre-Sanders Wladimir had an aura of invincibilty about him. It put his opponents on full defense from the opening bell and he'd start breaking them down with laser guided precision shots.

It was a fear factor that not any of his opponents could overcome.

His loss to Purrity was so one sided, most ppl seeing it come to the conclusion that the fight should have been stopped during the opening 5 rds.

However, looking at Axel Shulz's eyes when Wlad starts landing.....this is a guy who'd beaten both Foreman and Moorer and had fought even with Botha and Akinwande.

His face says it all as soon as Wlad starts on him.

Same with Ray Mercer. Yes, and older version of the once iron chinned warrior(Wlad is the only man to ever beat the snot out of him). You could see he actually was afraid to let his guard down. And every time he did, he paid for it violently.

That Wladimir would beat Parker and Joshua before they entered the ring.
That Wladimir would have beaten Lennox Lewis.

However, he ran into one of the hardest L hand counters Ive ever seen throw, and instantly, the aura of invincibility was gone.

He's been a considered by his haters as a glass jawed joke ever since.

Now, I dont believe thats the case.

FACT is, even low KO% CWs can one punch KO a 300lb HW. But when a guy is trying to defend 6'6" with 30"long arms, theres gonna be some openings, and even the most sturdy chins can be dented.

That said, there are ways to nail tall fighters. Wlad is no exception. And while the fact remains "everyone has a plan until they get hit", the young lions out there, particularly Joshua and Parker, have the tools to dispatch just about any fighter in the division.

In 2-3 yrs time, I can't see anyone beating either of them more often than not.:think

I think Wlad will beat the **** out of Fury. Have you seen Fury fight? Haye is 10x better.
Wilder is a winnable fight; he's not been impressive in his last two fights.

Wlad should beat Fury, then force unification against Wilder in early or mid 2016.
After that, if he's still motivated, he could continue fighting or just retire.

Fair enough. Anytime Wladimir wants to share his long term personal and professional plans with a random guy on the Internet let me know.
Until then I will be watching and rooting with great interest 😊

Wlad has slipped but he still doesnt get hit enough for me to think he should retire. Hes still pretty effective, and doesnt take much punishment.

Wilder and Anthony Joshua would make for some seriously fun matchups... i hope he sticks around

I respect your opinion and I like that you shared. But let's be realistic here...

    Wilder would kill Parker...

Joshua hasn't been proven yet at ALL...secondly, wasn't everyone sold on Price being a champ? Let's hope Fury or Joshua don't end up on the same page. That would be a tragedy for the English men :yep

I'm not saying Joshua is trash, no, he has potential from what I've seen so far. But he's fought absolutely no one, I really hope Whyte gives him some kind of run for his money. Too bad it's not Wach :huh

We don't know if Joshua has a chin or that he has good stamina.. nothing, we just know he's powerful and has some decent skills fighting against washed up boxers and tomato cans.

    Better yet,

Joshua vs Wilder, this is jaw dropping and mouth watering. Would love to see it.

    Hell no.

He might get Wilder next, according to another thread.

If he gets Wilder he will win. In the same fight, he will tie Larry Holmes at second place with 20 defenses, and do something Holmes never did..unify the belts.

Why not have one more fight an leapfrog over Holmes' legacy?

Fight Glazkov after that and bury Loudmouth Larry.

You can't really say what is going to stop someone who hasn't been stopped. Most of the Samoan-descendant contenders NEVER seem to get stopped, and he is getting better with every fight. If that fight ends in a stoppage I'd say Wilder has already shown more glass potential based off some of his reactions to hits over his career - both in sparring and otherwise, he's been on his bum from far less power than Parker can throw out at little notice so should such a fight happen it'd be Wilder by pts, or Parker by KO...

Not saying Parker would win (or otherwise), but saying Wilder would kill him is pretty naive.

LOL Samoans in general have the hardest goddamn chins ... there's got to be a lot of iron in the water there

A few Wladimir haters are trying to be "cute" in here. Suggesting that he retire now, despite him being so dominant. He hasn't shown much (if any) signs of slippage. Just one fight ago, he destroyed a fighter who many here assumed would give him a competitive bout in Pulev. As it turns out, Wladimir demolished the guy and exposed Pulev's limited ability at the top level.

Face it: Wladimir is going to dominate for several more years -if he chooses to. He is arguably the hardest man to hit in the sport. I'm going to see if I can compile his punch stat numbers over the course of the past 10 years. Hoping he'll retire soon is the only hope his haters have at this point. He's not losing to Fury, Wilder, or anyone else on the horizon.

    Totally agree. :good

Wladimir barely even gets hit... and he definitely doesn't get hit flush much at all. This will be a major factor in his longevity. He still has the tools and ability to carry on as the #1 HW for several more years. People cite his offense, but he's simply a master at nullifying his opponent's offense.

Wanting to see him retire when he's on the verge of breaking a couple of huge Heavyweight records and accomplishments seems kinda fishy to me.

After Fury, it probably will be just a matter of time to get those accomplishments to his name, wich will soldify his place in history.
We know now that's he's not going to break Louis consecutive defences record, because he hasn't been active enough the last couple of years to do such a thing, but he is on his way to take a few big ones anyway and not many can stand in his way for that to happen. And people want him to retire directly after busting one of the last sensible threat? When the door is wide open and all he has to do is walk through (2 opponents).
Plus, he wants the WBC belt and big money to be made in a total unification. He's not going to pass on that I figure.
