No fair using the M word. But there are some similarities. Quite a few, now that I think about it...

He has fought some excellent fighters since Sam Peter, that fight was a crossroads fight and Vlad got off the floor 3 times, even though only 1 of the KD's was legit. Vlad beat Sultan Ibragimov, Chagaev,Brock, Thompson 1, Haye, which were all tough fights going in, he Ko'd Byrd in rematch, KO'd Peter in rematch,KO'd a hot Eddie Chambers the easy ones were Rahman and Mormeck and the Thompson rematch...solid comeback

Vitali was improving greatly since the Lennox fight with a 2rd KO win over Kirk Johnson and battering of Tyson beater Danny Williams but after 4 years off came back to stop Sam Peter 30-1, good win, his best wins were over Juan Carlos Gomez 44-1, Solis ( big amateur and undefeated pro, Chris Areola, young puncher, undefeated, 27-0, Thomas Adamek 44-1, KO, I think it is also impressive...Vitali was my favorite of the 2 but he missed 4 of his best years to injury...In fairness Charr is a big guy 6"4 and undefeated, Boystov, Povetkin, are not looking to fight him and Vitali has been pursuing Valuev for sometime ( i think that's an interesting fight) with no success. He wanted Haye but David took Chisora and Vitali looks about near the end of the line...his body is more slim than muscled and he has not scored a clean KO for sometime but at 40 I think he should see how he feels after Charr and call it a day at 40 if he likes with a 45-2 record with 41 KO's but Charr is no joke at this age and anything can happen in boxing, we get old overnight.

the brother have fought the best of their times and you cant ask for more than that.

Still the overiding factor here is Brewster wasnt even that good. He couldnt hang with the mid to late 90's crop of heavies. Sure guys like Haye and Peter may fall into that Brewster category as well, but overall they are C+ level opposition at best, its not impressive and their records and opposition are proof to that.

And at the time, Wlad wasn't even that good. He had the talent and skills but was a poor ring general. Steward stated in interviews that he was shocked to learn that Wlad didn't spar, all his training was technique and athletic based which explains quite a bit. Steward changed all that.

Nah, Haye is quite a bit better than Brewster. Brewster is more Chisora level.

How can you say that? I didnt think he beat Valueav. Who else has he beaten? Chisora is a club fighter at best.

I agree, Haye is over-rated. Still.
But you're grossly under-rating Wladimir Klitschko.
If he wasn't very very good he would have slipped up against one of these guys in the last 8 years.

Chambers, Brock, an in-shape Peter (twice), Ibragimov, Haye. etc.
To beat them all, and to beat them all very clearly over many years, suggests Wlad is very very good.

Wlad is very good, but I dont think he improved as much as some are implying here. He didnt have to inorder to beat the level of opposition hes faced. Steward has admitted that, and has also admitted Lennox Lewis had to improve his game a lot more to beat the opposition he was going to be facing once they teamed up.

It wasn't exciting but he beat Valuev.

Hyperbole. He should have a win over top 5 Helenius and his pressure caused Vitali more discomfort than most. He also stood up the best shots of Vitali and Helenius, while Haye easily put him down in under 5 rounds. I'm not saying Chisora is a World Beater, but in terms of ability as a big tough swarmer, I can't see a case for Brewster being a level above. Brewster actually has worse losses on his record prior to Wlad.

He may not have had to improve to beat some of them, like Byrd whom he already matched up well against. But that does'nt mean his improvements are not evident.

Also, I could see Peter beating the Wlad of the first Brewster fight.

And I could see Sultan and Haye catching and finishing the reckless Wlad of the Sanders fight.
