damn right. Wlad is good but greatest of all time? come on now be reasonable. He's dominating a division thats full of old bums. Put him against a solid boxer with good workrate and inside presence..bobbing, weaving frazier style.. ur boy wlad is in trouble

there is no need to tell me how 'skill' in sport is to define!
what are you trying to say exactly? Wlad has no techniques.. or a weak putting together of them? Or is Peter more skilled than Wlad? you must be blind to claim this. i just meant to disagree to the statement - wlad has no skills. its dumb to misjudge this, even in comparison to atgs, he has imo remarkable skills in detail but also in combination. maybe there are some things you can blame wlad for, but for sure thats not the absence of skills or number or quality of his boxing techniques. anyway to discuss now about his belonging to atgs is senseless in general, hes still in business and maybe even still not in his prime.. :bbb

Well, I agree that he certainly could have been more aggressive and better utilized his right hand, but in all fairness he won virtually every round of that fight and against an undefeated titlist. Simply having a flat performance does not warrant issuing a guy an overall career rating. Many great champions have had worse performances against lesser opposition. **** happens.

I believe in all honesty he will retire in the top 25. I don't see him going past number 20 though, because he fights scared in some fights instead of going for broke. While he gets the win, it just doesn't solidify him. I believe this may change though after the last fight. I don't believe Ibragimov could have even hurt him and he still didn't go for it.

To be an All-Time Great you need some kind of defining fight against another great fighter. Maybe not another ATG, but someone to really test you and prove you have the extra *something* deep down that merely "very good" fighters don't have.

It's not Wlad's fault obvioulsy, but it doesn't look like there will be one of those fights in his career.

Being dominant against average fighters, even if you are overwhelmingly dominant, doesn't really prove greatness. It proves that you can make your physical advantages count, but it doesn't prove that you can propel yourself beyond what you "should" be able to achieve. The very greatest achieved things they shouldn't be able to achieve.

    Ali vs Foreman.
Louis winning once every few months for years at a time against other ATGs.
Marciano going through his entire career undefeated against fighters who were often bigger and more skilled than he was.

    etc....

Well, with all that said, who should be next? Who is going to put him over the hump and define him as atg? Who has that ability? Certainly not Peter, Chagaev or Valuev. Everyone wants to see him in a war, but the truth is nobody can give him one.

I think if he manages to fight and beat all of those guys though, it might make a nice addition to his legacy.

You forgot about Purrity, Brewster, and Williamson (yes, I know he oficially lost - the referee did his job properly).
Wlad met no one who was even close to prime Tyson or Frazier. He was too cautious to KO Ibragimov, and he barely decisioned Peter (whose skills, speed, footwork are not even comparable to orime Tyson's).
I don't think you need to be Wlad hater to think he is a bit chinny. Just try to be realistic - HE IS INDEED A BIT CHINNY. He makes up for it with his style, power, etc. and he is the best HW nowadays, but he is still chinny.

thats a good point on that thread

vlad isnt even at top 25 of all the time

perhaps he can get into to top 50 if he unify the titles and retire with no other KO
