Erm, he has. He is currently the world champion and in all realism has been since the night he dominated the previous number 1, chris byrd.
Well as he is not the World Champion, clearly in that sense he can't!!! You cannot rewrite history because you do not like it, or you think it is unfair Wlad may be the best fighter, but that does not always make you world champ as the likes of Harry Wills and co will testify...
I think Vitali has the same sort of claim. Unless one retires, Lennox comes back or the brothers fight each other, there can be no legitimate claim.
To be fair to Joe; he achieved his record without having to share his claim of the title. He was numero uno without any astericks. So even if Wlad matches that number, there are it won't have the same effect as Louis did. I think that boredom will see Wlad exit sooner than his abilities require him to exit. But Wlad will be missed unless the division brings us a new set of great fighters.
Joe Louis benefited from the slaughter of about 40 million potential rivals and the maiming of uncounted others...
I don't think he'll fight that long. Also upsets can always happen. 15 wins from 15 fights is a lot to expect of anyone
There are no "in your opinion what is lineal or true?" qualifications to the record. It simply means defending a title a certain number of times, in this case the IBF belt, which regarldess of lineage is the only title in the Heavyweight division that does a good job of making the best available fighters the #1 contender.
Funny observation, I don't expect you to be able to answer. You don't recognize the Ring's decision to award Wlad the true HW Championship, and you ***** and whine about how the #2 and #1 must fight each other, yet you don't recognize the Ring or the alphabet titles and their respective rankings. This is such an amusing contradiction. If you accept the Ring's Rankings than you have to accept their Champion. If you don't accept either, than aren't we just talking about your personal opinion which means **** all? :hi:
I do not agree with the criticisms of Wlads title reign on the grounds of him not being undisputed. This is not some alphabet belt holder who has one one of the major belts and been made endless title defences, without trying to unify. Wlad has fought the other belt holders, and has matched himself against the most dangerous challengers that he can get into the ring. For this reason alone, it is legitimate to compare his standing in this era, to Louis's standing in his era. I verry much doubt that Louis's record is in any danger, simply because time will run out before it is seriously threatened.
None compare to the legendary Dutch Boy Gym either way. http://boxrec.com/list_bouts.php?human_id=8222&cat=boxer
HELLS YEAH:happy FINALLY SOME LOGIC! but you're ending it to early...there's been no heavyweight champ since Marciano retired! **** that...since Tunney retired! screw it, let's be real...since Jeffries retired! The REAL heavyweight champion is the ghost of Jim Jeffries, who cries at night at the joke "champions" that came after like Johnson, Ali and Tyson. NOT ONE of them can claim true lineage
