I can see why they're not perfect, but there's merit to the point that Shavers' knockout record against true heavyweights really isn't that good. Certainly not good enough to suggest he has a decent chance against Klitschko.

It's also telling that guys got off the floor to beat Shavers. So even if, Shavers did floor Wlad with a big shot, he'd be landing on a guy who was never knocked out cold. Earnie wasn't a good finisher if he had to put away someone who got up, and Wlad's gotten off the canvas to win.

Either way, it's laughable to give him anything more than a longshot chance to ever catch Wlad. He'd be lucky to land a single meaningful shot.

    This ^^^^^
Shavers didn't even have better stamina or a chin compared to Wlad. He was a huge puncher in an era of small (some would be CWs today) HWs.

Shavers was stopped by fighters that Wlad and other top, modern HWs would blow out of the ring. I know why some are hyping the older US fighters and it's becoming a joke :-(

Hopefully you're being sarcastic because that is the most biased and skewered blog I've ever read. Not even you can be that stupid.

Since when does a Burger King manager not recognize their own slogan?

Sorry, didn't now Burger King was the only place that would hire you. I doubt you're management material though considering your immensely stupid posts. Talking boxing isn't the same as asking someone if they'd like "fries with that", is it?:yep

Wlad by KO. He would have to fight very cautiously, but he would get the KO by the sixth, seventh rounds.

True HW? A true anything is class not size. 215lb Byrd took a beating for 12rounds vs Klitschko but a 260lb Argentinian faulted after a few shots against Wladimir.

Shavers could still move,He's not going to stand there like Sultan or Wach. Anyone that moves around is going to give Wladimir troubles, he looks very good beating opponents slow topheavy fighters who can't bend over.

Who's better to judge his power apart from the people who have fought him and especially Holmes,Ali,Norton, two fought prime Foreman.

Bugner, Norton, Ellis, Young and gave Ali a very tough fight. You're wrong again no matter how you try and twist it. Norton alone is better than anyone on Wlads resume.

Joke thread. Hate to pop the nostalgiaists bubble, but Shavers was a (real) heavyweight featherfist. Check out his ko ration against HW's 215 pounds or more, it was in the Chris Byrd range. He was 6 ft tall, fought at 205 most of the time, and racked up a ton of victories over fighters who would be cruiserweights today, and lost to most of the top contenders. He would be one of the two smallest opponents WK has ever faced, and if WK fought him today, with Shavers having been magically transported to today, changing his facial features and fighting under another name so people didn't know him, but having the same record, all you K haters would be saying how absurd it is for WK to be fighting such a small cruiserweight with an unimpressive record and how that is proof of how terrible the division is today. Anyway, Shavers would be blitzed out in 1 round, unless WK carried him for a while.
