Shavers had no chin either, and size plays a roll

Better chin then Wlad. He stood with punchers like Ali, Holmes, Williams, and Norton, and took their best shots

In truth, Holmes and Ali are much more likely than Shavers to have knocked out Vlad. I could see Holmes and Ali landing whiplash rights to Vlad's jaw, and outboxing him with brilliant, fast body movement. Shavers did not have the athletic gifts of Holmes and Ali, though. Thus, Shavers would have been beaten down by Vlad's heavy left jab, and ultimately kayoed by Vlad's devastating left hook or right hand.

Holmes had pretty good power, I think. Even though those fighters weren't KO artists, he took their shots. I don't think Wlad would.

Hmmmm....Larry Holmes couldn't keep Shavers off him with his jab, yet people think WALDO could :huh

It's ridiculous to think that Shavers wouldn't land in this fight because he would, and frequently too. I actually give the pre-Sanders WALDO a far better chance of beating Shavers than the current one because the earlier version of WALDO would have come out swinging and might have done what Quarry did. The current safety first WALDO would look like a rabbit in the headlights though, and when Shavers connects it's lights out.

Just like Mike Tyson, Shavers is a HORRIBLE stylistic matchup for the current WALDO. Shavers KO2.

50/50 fight IMO, but no way will it go the distance. Shavers has to go all-out on attack from the opening bell, and I think he has a good shot at an early stoppage. But if Wlad can survive that he will dominate, as the far superior technical boxer.

Holmes and Ali would have stopped wlad. yet Holmes could hardly stop shavers. and they arent really power punchers, but they are typically hard punchers and good finishers. me saying something wring isn't hating. Ali and Holmes would certainly stop wlad. they couldn't do that to shavers really.

Except for one round in their second fight, Holmes successfully used his jab to keep Shavers at bay. This was true of both fights.

Jimmy Young is a poor example to demonstrate as a participant in a "great fight" as he was a defensive genius known for his spoiler tactics.
