Leapai was a complete **** opponent. I know it was Wlads mandatory and I dont blame him for taking it to try and unify all titles, and Wlad did put on the most exciting performance I have seen of his for a while, but it's because Leapai was a sitting duck. And anything would look good compared to his last performance where he clinched the entire time.

"Dismantling opponents systematically" is probably the best way to describe both styles of the Klitschkos. I found to appreciate "The art of boxing tall" they mastered to learn and are not going for the knockout right away even when they could. Leapai is by no means anywhere near Wladimirs level but Wladimir was insanely active and mobile for being 38 year old heavyweight with 65+ fights.

The thing I liked the most was the way Klitschko learned to dose his power and therefore keep his activity up. He always threw his right hand with full force and planted his feet, now throwing lead right hands and "softer" jabs to keep his opponent at bay all the time, kind of like Vitali since his comeback, that's the reason Leapai couldn't set up anything at all. He looked much lighter on his feet too, seems in better shape with not too much unnecessary muscle mass.

The Povetkin bout had Wladimir on the backfoot too but he opted to clinch when Povetkin got in his chest rather than take a step back, also not setting up his right hand properly, loading up and missing most of them, that's what was so frustrating, I think he learned quite a bit from the Povetkin fight and trained with Banks on a "new style" that we saw against Leapai. It is particularly suited for smaller pressure fighters.

Taller guys like Pulev, Fury or Wilder would bring out a different Wladimir who is looking to land a big bomb earlier.

Klitschko could still stay on top for a long time, maybe another 4 years.

fighting style anymore. It's just too difficult for me to appreciate the systematic breaking of one's s3xual well being in a boxing ring by the power of grabbing and kneeling on opponents ***** first.
