He was still RING top 10 as recent as his fight prior to Lepai.

THE RING’s No. 9-rated Denis Boystov went to Germany to stop Oleksandr Nesterenko in the third round. New Zealand prospect Joseph Parker had a nice win over ancient Frans Botha with a second round KO. No changes in the heavyweight rankings.

    An apology would be nice.

There seems to be a disease that affects boxing fans pertaining to heavyweight champions. No matter who the current champ is he gets nothing but hate and derision. Chris Byrd, a fast, intelligent likeable champion was Crisp Turd to the fans at the time. Joe Frazier was a limited, robotic midget that would be trounced and easily outboxed once Ali got his boxing
licence back. Ali, as champ was a running, scared boxer who hung on the back of his opponents, terrified of actually fighting like a man in the middle of the ring. Tyson and Jack Dempsey seemed to get some respect but fans for the most part seem to hate their heavyweight champs. IMO Wlad is a great long term champion and is fighting a mandatory contender to keeps his belt. Now that Vitality has retired he wants that belt too. I think he will get all the belts and in the process whip both Fury and Wilder and will continue to be hated by most fans.

yes alex is inferior, but he will come to win by ko, not just to survive the 12 rounds. that's what makes it more interesting than most of wlads recent fights. his opponents seemed happy to just go the distance.

Let's be honest. Anything else would be a huge embarrassment for Wlad. This shouldn't last longer than 3 rounds.

Leapai is slow, a very wide puncher, short, I think 6' 1" at the most, no balance, no defense, so easy to counter...............but he is the mandatory, just like Austin was, at 6'6" tall, Vlad knocked him out by using his left hand only, knocked him out with five very quick left hooks..........

Wlad should read this and hang his head in shame. The difference here is that King made sure Lewis would be stripped if he didn't fight Byrd.

Nobody is forcing Wlad to fight Leapai despite what the K-tards say , and the WBO would never in a million years strip their belt from him

Whats almost worse than fighting Leapai is the fact that Byrd- years past that date -when he was shot to pieces ,gave Wlad his best win and kickstarted his title regin.:rofl:patsch

People actually attempt to lebel Wlad an ATG:nut

As if you know what the WBO would and would not do.

Anyway, Wlad seems to be the only champ in any division who is trying to unify all the titles unlike many others who want just one so they can avoid the other title holders and other tough fights.

Furthermore, the whole point of belts and titles is to force boxers to fight people who they might not want to to remain champion. When you have all 4 belts, and want to hold them you are forced to fight whoever manages to obtain a mandatory shot. Hopefully but sure as hell not always the best competition which is the fault of the orgs.

    Wow....

So ducking a RING top 2 fighter is a good thing now?

If Wlad promised he would face Pulev after Lepai and a court ordered him to do so, but when the time came and HBO had a date set he suddenly trashed his IBF belt and said "Pulev poses no threat to me." You would take his word for it?

Than Wlad sits like an idiot and does commentary for Pulev vs Povetkin for his vacant belt because he really had no better opponent lined up, and has to eat his words as Pulev humilates his best win. "I was wrong about Pulev" utters Wlad, only to once again refuse to fight him and sign up to face Arreola instead for his last hurrah.

That link gets brought up to trash Lewis, and you are using it to praise him. Lewis' treatement of Byrd was disgraceful. That is not a model for any Champion. You might as well bring up Bowe trashing his belt as a model for Wlad to follow.
