The fact his opponents are not very good allows Wlad to get away with the way he parries...arms way out in front. Good fighters would feint him out of position while doing this. Of course you than have to deal with his excessive clinching. Not really a defensive skill the way he applies it. Good defensive skills allow a fighter to be in position to counter.

So you went from claiming he doesn't parry to accepting that he does parry..it's just he shouldn't be able to do it because nobody is good enough to stop him.

Yeah, easier said than done, keyboard warrior. You didn't even seem to know he was parrying any type of punches against any time of fighter until it was brought to your attention otherwise you would have already said as much, what a swell cornerman you would make. Just another hot air man.

I love how you take things so literally to ignore the point made. Only an "arm chair warrior" would do that. My response was to Farmy claiming Wladvhas a great defense. Just because a guy doesn't get hit doesn't make him great defensively. If that were the case than David Have a great defensive fighter the night he fought Wlad. So I'll ask you the same question I did him....what make Wlad great defensively?

I'm glad you love the way I do things. I ignored nothing, you simple made no point. If asked directly, you probably couldn't even answer what this "point" you claim to have made even was. That's a reoccuring problem with you.

Not getting hit is the object of defense, or are you not being literal again?

Haye's defense is fine, he has very good head movement and he had the normally accurate Wlad missing alot.

That's not the same question, you originally asked if Wlad performed a specific set of defensive tactics, I answered and in retort you devalued your own question by saying it wasn't literal.

I would conclude Wlad has an effective defense because his opponents have difficulty hitting him. If that is not your definition of defense, I can understand why you are having trouble with this. That is if you are being literal.

So you're saying Wlad is great defensively because he doesn't get hit? This is due to a few thing such as poor competition. As already pointed out no trainer advocates backing straight up and leaning back. Wlad gets away with it not because its good defense, but because his opponents don't know how to capitalize. His parrying would look ridiculous against a skilled counter puncher. There simply aren't any today because it is in fact a weak era. Good defensive fighters are able to stay in the pocket, make a fighter miss and counter. Anyone who has ever fought before can tell you this. Anyone who has study film of great defensive fighters can also tell you this. But you're right, Wlad doesn't get hit all that much. Unfortunately its not because he is great defensively as was claimed.

When it comes to fighting at a distance there aren't really many who can compare to the Klitschkos.... Over the last 10 years, especially since switching to Steward Wlad hasn't shown much of an inside game, but he hasn't really had to use it. Now I belong to the group who thinks that while todays heavyweight division isn't by any means the best, it is in fact underrated... There is a fairly decent talent pool, but promoters have abandoned the division largely due to the lack of talent here in the united states(at least compared to Europe) so it's hard to get prospects to face one another, and many talented fighters aren't able to catch a big break... Another problem is that we have lots of guys who play the waiting game, rather than face a Klitschko they just want to wait until they retire. Ducking, and poor promotion has hurt the division more than a lack of talent.

Yes, not getting hit is a valid mark of a good defenisive fighter. Imagined hypothetical situations where you think he would get hit is not a real concrete criticism.

I can point out recent examples of Wlad parrying a punch, you can't do this with your claim. You can only offer a fantasy scenario.

You can't counter punch a parry. That just doesn't make since. Are you not being literal again?

Keyboard warrior rubbish. "Anyone who has ever fought" "Anyone who had study film" As if these magic terms suddenly makes your poor argument credible. It does not.

So weak unskilled comp not being able to hit equals great defense? That's just laughable! :yep

I can point out just how sloppy Wlad parrys. Its safe to say better fighters would be able to capitalize on this because he is not great at this as you're claiming.

Where did I say anything about counter punching a parry? Just making things up again are you? What I did say was a skilled opponent could feint Wlad out of position when he uses his "chopping" like parry and counter. Don't attribute things to me I never said....that's called lying.

If my points were so poor you would be able to tell me all of Wlads defensive skills and how they make him stand out as a great defensive fighter. So far you haven't, keyboard warrior.

If someone has fought so many different opponents over so many years during the reign and everybody has difficulties hitting him, then you have to admit that he has a great defense. You can't just say "well, all of his opponents were sh*t, he still doesn't have a great defense".

If after all these years you still don't know what makes him so difficult to hit and think that the "unskilled" opposition is the problem, then I'm afraid that no explanation would satisfy you.

-Bad defense fighters get hit regardless of who they are fighting. Even if you are under the delusion that Wlad's competition is the absolute worst more helpless athletes to lace them up, not getting hit by them speaks volumes.

-If you could point out you would have, you weren't even aware Wlad did such a thing until I pointed out it out.

This is a text-book parry: Lots of luck explaining the supposed flaws in this.
It does as intended. I don't think you realize the skill level it takes to execute a proper parry on any level, reason its a lost art form.

"his "chopping" like parry and counter"

I'm not lying. You said it previously and just said it again. Are you having another breakdown? Try not to get banned again.

Its obvious your reading comprehension is sub par. Go back and read it again Einstein. I think you just like making up lies about other posters to get your point in. I never said ANYTHING about Wlad parrying and then countering. Since you're so sure wlad is a great defensively than how about linking me to some experts who feel the same?

Several reasons Wlad is a great defensive fighter.

    1) A great offense is a good defense. Wlad dictates most of the fight with his jab which keeps his opponents too far away to mount an attack and they need to protect themselves well enough because of the amount of damage his jab does. Wlad holds the record for most jabs landed and thrown in a HW fight.

    2) Master at spacing. Since Wlad is usually the tallest fighter in the ring and has plenty of experience, he knows exactly how much space he can be away from his opponent to hit and not be hit.

    3) Uses his legs and arms well. Wlad does a good job of blocking opponent's punches with his parrys. He also optimizes his long legs and his physical abilities to move out of harms way very quickly.

    4) Good anticipation/reflexes. Very underrated for someone his size.

-You don't even know what you wrote anymore, they should have gave you a pysch test before letting you back. I'm not going to bother reposting your own quotes to remind what you said but it wasn't that.

This isn't a race, take your time, and figure out what you are trying to say before you even attempt to argue my points. How can you challenge my position if you don't even know your own. To be blunt you've made an ass out of yourself the past couple posts. Nobody could be so stupid, you have to be trolling. Post one thing and than deny saying it the same sentence.

In the mean time, go to the gym if you have any. And just try to anticipate the punch of an amateur boxer and knock it out of the way before trash talking an experienced professional who's demonstrated this skill at the world level.
