how does a guy go from ranked #8 to mandatory to getting a shot all after 1 fight and 4 months later??
Bermain Stiverne has been ranked #1 by the WBC for 2 years
GGG was ranked #1 and never got a shot at Sturm for over a year
WBO love interim titles, they should make Lepai fight for one of those garbage belts....this fight is an epic mismatch

What's with Pulev? Leapai is the worst fight ever but I can kinda see that K2 is not responsible for the circumstances. But why not fight Pulev instead?

Lepai has a world ranking of 29 and he beat a guy with a world ranking of

to pass everybody else to fight for the titles.

Wlad has disgraced this division beyond repair.

Wlad has never headlined a PPV, his matches are usually available for free in the states via streaming or television.

Hell Pac and May..sometimes Marquez or Cotto are about the only fighters who do PPV these days.

How did Leapai get ranked 8th in the first place prior to beating Boystov?

After losing to Johnson he beat a former light heavy currently ranked 402, a guy who had been stopped in his last 6 fights, a guy with a 2-4-0 record and a guy who lost his next fight to a guy on his debut.

Prior to the Boystov fight Leapai was basically fighting journeymen. Earlier this year he was fighting 8 rounders, him having a top ten ranking with his recent form would be the equivalent of now giving Audley Harrison a top ten ranking.

Mormeck was at least a former world champion and had a name. Pianeta was at least unbeaten and Pianeta has beaten Colin Wilson who has beaten Leapai.

Leapai may not even be the best Aussie heavy. Lucas Browne may look terrible but he has KO'ed a guy in 1 round that KO'ed Leapai and KO'ed a guy in 3 rounds who drew with Leapai.

This is a horrible, horrible match up.
