David Have really isn't that good of a heavyweight. That he has been a top contender is just another testament how bad the division is.

alex better not holiday in the ukraine after he knocks wlad out.

their prime minister or president( whichever one fled) would be in less danger than alex :)

Lots of good posts, thanks everyone.

Honest question for the experts....is Wlad starting to slip a bit? Obviously I don't mean a whole lot, but perhaps enough that Pulev and Fury might have a chance down the road?

Wlad didn't look as great in his last fight....but was that due to Povetkin? I also tend to think Wlad looked better against Thompson, Haye, and Chambers then more recent fights against Pianeta and Wach.

-For all his faults, he feints very well and had a hand speed advantage over Wlad.

-I think there have been less impressive fighters to hold a top two ranking.

This is a joke of a fight. Wladimir should fight real contenders.

Wlad's last fight was a masterpiece. He dismantled and destroyed one of the top fighters in the division.

I'm a big fan of Wlad and follow him form his first pro fight in Germany, but the Povetkin fight was a farce for viewers. Most unwatchable fight in Wlad's career IMO.

Boxing does not need to be pretty to be effective. It is not figure skating. There are no presentation scores. Wlad tactics were very effective against Povetkin. It was masterfully executed strategy. All 3 judges saw it that way.

If Wlad was the challenger and Povetkin the champ then the ref wouldn't have allowed the holding and the clinches. That's not to say that Povetkin's tactics were pretty either. But Wlad should have worked on short hooks or uppercuts when Povetkin dives inside or use his legs to evade Povetkin's wild charges.

Wlad won the fight. But he lacked the athleticism to win in style. If Wlad had shown up in the same condition he did against Haye or Chambers then he would have scored the KO.

Ali Bashir condemned Wlads performance to his face. Do you even know who he is?

Idiots like you making posts like that is why Klitschko fans are seen as nothing more than a figure of riducule who know nothing about the sport. Keep up the good work. Thankfully othter decent boxers don't have moron supporters like you.

It was all within the rules. Wlad did not give Povetkin any space to fight on the inside and Povetkin ended up in clinches. It is harder to do than you think. It takes a lot of skill, anticipation and timing. Rewatch the fight and look how Wlad anticipated punches, used his jab to disorient Povetkin, put him off-balance then step in and negate any follow up. Boxing is all about timing and distance. You have to create space for your punches yourself. Povetkin failed to do that and failed to adjust. It was not pretty but it was impressive performance if you know what to look for.

He has to fight Leapai because he's the WBO mandatory.
