Then Haye has a slim chance. You can't beat Wlad by countering, he doesn't give you those chances. You have to lead.
:good brilliant, couldnt have said it better myself!. of course haye could lose,he has been questioned chin wise, but he also got up to win by KO aswell, and he has shown good enough stamina of late also.Haye likes to fight, wlad does not like to fight,he is a boxer, not a warrior to get into a battle. wlad does have KO power.but haye will stay focused and elusive, wlad will have to punch downwards and haye will be slipping and ducking jabs and counter them,he will move and make wlad chase and miss early, just to get wlad worried and worked up,which will tire wlad out. He will paw the jab, stop the jab and you stop wlad landing right hands,i dont see him often throw right hands without a jab!. If eddie chambers can land right hands on wlad from the outside early on,then haye with much better footwork and movmemnt will get to the angles and hit wlad with overhand rights easily. Wlad will try lean and clinch ala lewis v tyson, just to tire and slow haye down, but haye has the timing and speed to see everything wlad tries before it happens. If haye could dodge faster cruiser punches,he does the same easier with heavyweight punches. Haye will slip the clinch and be close to bang wlad with KO punches. Haye wont have wlad be a pressure fighter backing him up,this means haye can set the pace and control the range. if wlad clinches he will get hit with overhand rights while clinching or find himself uncumfortable in range for haye to hit him. if haye can 3 punch combo valuev and wobble him,you better bet he will to Wlad. yall say what you like, but just you wait!.
I usually like to look at polls in future fights to see the odds, and how they should approximate in my view. I think they're fair, although I'd favor Wlad slightly more than the poll. I think a Wlad decision is probably more likely than a KO like the posters here in the poll have indicated.
This fight not going the distance is my first prediction. Then I'd take Wlad. Haye isn't an inside fighter by all means. Wlad's job is easier because of it. If Haye can't shake up Wlad in the first 3 rounds, he's done. Because that jab will tell the rest of the story.
Few things I disagree on Jack.......... Haye has been a fast starter when he's seen blood imo, like when he has hurt his man early, and lot of his early KO's, seem to of come against smaller men, who's power is obviously not as devastating. I dont think Haye will start fast, as he wont want to extend himself to the point where he takes too big a risk early, and leaves Wlad a hole to plug, cause it could potentially end his chances before he's even got started, not to mention, he knows Wlad is a huge puncher. First thing Haye will do with Wlad imo, is surrender distance, invite Wlad to come foward and lead to him so he can use Wlads offense against him, but I cant see him holding his feet in center ring, or bum rushing Wlad, its too dangerous a strategy for him imo, especially early when Wlad's reflexes will be as strong as there going to be. Wlad is not the fight he was who goes straight back in a line, dont get me wrong he's still not great on the backfoot, but if you watch the Sam Peter rematch, when he's backed up, he moves off in a circle, but makes Peter pay with booming right hands every time he tries to force the issue. That might be true, but the more Haye moves, the more energy he will expend, meaning he could become a more stationary target down the stretch as fatigue sets in. Haye wont slip Wlad's jab imo, im almost certain of that, Wlad jabs from the backseat, and he does't put it on there in a predictable rhythm, he will wait and strategically pick the right time to put it out there. Only worry I would have for Wlad, is that he has a tendency to be almost too focused at times, due to him knowing he has a poor chin, which means he could fall asleep behind the wheel and not be ready to defend himself against a potential punch coming his way. Haye can obviously win, cause you cant discount someone with that kind of power, especially when the opponent has a questionable chin, but I think Haye has the potential to get himself knocked out trying to land that punch.
Wladimir has not fought anybody with decent footwork in years. Footwork beats a guy who likes a target direct in front of him. Wladimir is an engineered boxer who runs away or clinches when he is out of position. The small guys Wladimir has fought have decent hand speed but poor footwork. Chambers actually fights pretty Eastern European e.g. high guard and tries to block punches not move out of the way. Chageav and Sultan are heavier but employ the same tactics. The k-brothers grew up with this type of fighting and have the tactics to beat it in their sleep. Peter was better the first time he fought Wladimir. It was disgraceful they put Peter him in with Wladimir having just attempted to teach him to bob and weave. There was a pause every time Peter went to bob. Ten fights down the line would have been a lot fairier to Peter. I did not like the way Chageav got shoed in against Wladimir either after having just had the hep b stuff and not having fought much in two years. Wladimir actually really times his fights well against average fighters lately e.g. all the advantages. Right style, out of shape guys, guys with problems out of the ring, guys who are hardly fighting. This gives Haye a real chance. Easy fights lowers your standards. I think both K brothers are going to get caught out by live oppentents. Not sure they will get beat but they will be in fights and get shook up.
Valuev slow and no skills? atsch SNV is the GOAT. I think Haye can win this fight because he brings good lateral movement, a jab of his own and the power to hurt Wlad. Who was the last person to actually tried to jab Wlad back and used good lateral movement to not be an easy target in front of him? Wlad still has little, to no head movement and Haye can make him pay, Sanders' style.
Haye is at his best as a counter puncher though. If he fights as a defensive counter puncher, he loses, but as an aggressive one, that's his best shot. I think he should keep moving, which means Wlad won't throw his right hand, and wait until he slips a jab, before leaping with with a left or right hook. It's the only clear way to get past Wlad's jab and there's too much risk involved in simply going all-out. I think he should pick his moments and when he gets on the inside, then he should go all-out but it has to be after picking the right moment. Controlled aggression will win him the fight. Being careless will see him get knocked out. I think Haye will fight Wlad similar to how he did in the third round against Harrison. The first two rounds aren't worth mentioning because I do believe Haye bet on a 3rd round knockout, so the first two can be ignored. How he got rid of Harrison in the 3rd should be similar to what he should do against Wlad. Possibly true, although I do think it's a tactic he'll have to use. Wlad is not able to fight on the inside and that's something Haye should try and exploit.
I think it depend on Haye's strategy in this fight. I can't see Wlad doing much more than he normally does. Using that jab to score points and play safe whilst holding when Haye comes in close, scoring a win on the cards or even stopping a tired Haye in the latter rounds. If Haye plays the run and counter game he did against Valuev, he's not going to get very far. If he commits more and takes a few more chances, I can see him landing a good shot and stopping a panicking Klitschko in 7 or 8. If I were forced to bet my house on it, I'd pick Wladimir based on track record and heavyweight experience. ...but I'd be sweating the whole fight.
The poll result reflects the true chances of either fighter quite well. Haye has way more than a puncher's chance as opposed to Wlad's previous opponents but of course he remains the clear favourite.
haye will not go all the way out in first round.he didn't even do it against harrison,so few stiff jags from wlad will poot haye on bike which he will ride to the end of the fight,an less wladis going to graze him with a left hook of the jab,and down goes mash potato:deal
My prediction is one boring ass fight. Both guys will probably fight terrified and tentative to throw, then at some point a KO will happen whenever they decide to open up. I do favor Wlad, though.
