He is no elite heavyweight. :nono

He will lose the consolation/bronze medal match to Adamek next year. That is assuming he doesn't actually retire like a *****.

Bull-****ing-****, I don't believe you believe that stupid ****. No disrespect, but if you honestly had Haye winning 8-4, you are literally the worst scorer of a fight I've ever seen or heard of, real talk.

IB, you scored a round 9-9.

On the ten point scoring system, does that not go back to 10-10?

On this system, doesn't at least one fighter have to score 10 :huh

maybe so, although I do not see Adamek as being a long term elite either. Haye needs more experience and discipline, which seems to be things Adamek relies on. Haye has such great speed and skills, but he might not be motivated much if he is thinking about retiring. I never said he was elite, but he is still rather small for a heavyweight, and his feet so wide apart at times bothers me a bit. Vlad was his usual boring fighting self. I cannot say Vlad is great with his boxing stance and style and neither Vitali. Maybe they will go down as great with all the guys they fought, but they are in a weak division and they are big guys who use that to advantage.. I don't think Haye comes out of this fight too bad. He can come back and improve and use this experience to get better. I thought he would get knocked out early.

Nah, ref took a point away. If a ref takes a point away, it doesn't have to be a 10 point round.

    Is that certain?

Is it not called the '10 point must' scoring system?

I.e, at least one fighter must score ten?

That's what i always believed, but am happy to be told i am wrong.

Yea, it is a 10 point must system, but there are exceptions. Like if the ref takes a point away from fighter A, but he wins the round, it's a 9-9 round. Or if Fighter A gets a point taken, but he knocksdown Fighter B, that round can be scored 9-8. It's not common that a round won't be a 10 point round, but it does happen every once in awhile.

So it aint a 'must' system at all.

    You just start with 10.

I thought it reverted to ten :good

A deduction is a deduction, no matter what - and supersedes & overrides the "must" part of "ten point must system".

What you may be thinking of is the case of a knockdown being scored by the loser of the round. The person does not win 9-8 as some think; instead it reverts to a 10-10 round.

It is "ten point must" in all circumstances EXCEPT in the event of a foul. If you clearly and dominantly win the round but have four points taken away it is a 6-9 round (6 points for you with the mandatory ref-decreed four points deducted from your original ten, and 9 for the opponent because without those deductions it was a 10-9 round for you).

It is pretty unambiguous. That round was correctly scored 9-9 if you thought Wlad won it. If you thought Haye did, obviously that is 10-8 for him. Experienced judge Harold Lederman scored it 9-9 the same as me.

Highlight of the night for me was watching Haye be given a count for diving repeatedly.

    :patsch:roll:
Wlad is a very good boxer and is tremendously athletic for someone that damn big. To dock that against him is as asinine as saying "oh so and so is only great because of their natural athleticism/hand speed/foot speed" is so great. No duh, ATGs are basically when top notch training meets top notch athletic ability.
