    Round 5

Kimori pressures without wading in, just putting together power combos with quick trots inside before slipping back out to reset without any counters or parting gifts coming his way. Veto is just slowly plodding forward or backward (depending on whether Kimori is coming or going, letting the Kenyan dictate pace and direction) and pawing with his slow left jab before reassembling his high guard to collect high-fives.

Another Kimori round on activity. 50-45

    Round 6

Lead left to the body from the outside by Kimori. Veto is now the one coming forward, but not punching. Left hand and right hook combo up top by Kimori. OOH, Veto gets through with a trio of straight blasts to the face. Kimori's eye is puffed up. Kimori comes lunging in with the southpaw 1-2 but seems arm-weary and just claps against the guard of Veto. The Hungarian patiently bides his time, catching Kimori and shoving him away before working his long left jab. Veto circles close, working the right hand frequently. Where was this effort from Veto all night?

    10-9 Veto

    59-55 Kimori

This may have been extended through an agreement between the promoters and TV networks to be longer than the originally scheduled 6 rounds to help fill out the time before the main event.

    We are entering the 7th...

    Round 7

Veto paws ineffectively with his left jab, getting Kimori to parry confidently before hammering him with a right hand. Kimori's top half of his face is badly puffed up. Veto must have been landing a bit more than it seemed through the first five. Kimori is unable to get inside now, chopping with his right jab and overreaching with his high slapping left from the outside. Veto is keeping him at bay with the busy but inaccurate jab. A couple of clubbing right hands shift it in Veto's favor. Left hook just before the bell by Veto, and Kimori flurries into his gloves.

    10-9 Veto

    68-65 Kimori

    Round 8 (last round)

Double jab pushed out by Veto, batted aside by Kimori who doesn't see the right cross coming and gets beaned in the face. Rough lean-in as both flash their hands speed-bag style and end up cat-fighting with elbows flying dangerously close to their exposed jaws. They grind together and the action gets progressively sloppier. Veto is landing right hands between the tie-ups and then just drilling his head into Kimori's while pushing ihs arms down. Kimori has his glove re-taped. They come back together and an exhausted Kimori is knocked down by a short right hand. He looks dizzy, regaining his footing but walking away from the referee. Kimori just meanders to the ropes with his back turned to the official, who has no choice but to wave his hands.

TKO8 win for Veto, saving himself from what ought to have been a points loss.

Damn. :yep James Kimori kind of got screwed by that. If it had ended after 6, he should have been way up on the cards (assuming no incompetence or corruption).

In a way, Ola Afolabi just indirectly knocked out James Kimori. :think (by forcing the extension of the 6-rounder with his quick disposal of Dunstan)

    Whats your prediction IB?

I got Wlad to win by KO, at a push, I'd say inside the first 3 rounds ...
