With all fairness, i think Toney would have eventually KO'd Rahman because it was obvious that Rahman overtrained for that fight. He melted down and didn't have any legs under him. I think this is the real reason why he gave up on his stool. He found a way out and he took it.

But why would anyone feel embarassed about the Klitschko fight? He dominated him from pillar to post!!

This is my point of view also:good

Yes it was dominant from Wladimir. The fact is,no way was Rahman the mandatory after Povetkin pulled out.Using Rahmans win over LL seems to be the way to justify Wladimir fighting him when the reality is he is coming off the back of that fight against Toney. That is the whole reason it is being discussed

It really is astounding how the spin lines changed from when Toney beat Rahman to when it was announced that Rahman would fight Klitschko :lol::lol:

It's also being discussed because at this stage in the game there is nothing, absolutely NOTHING impressive about taking 7 rounds to stop Rahman :deal

This was a false position for Rahman though.Everybody knows this.Fair enough the IBF made it the mandatory but fans on here still try and portray Rahman as a live contender, saying that he knocked out the great Lewis......
I wouldn't involve Wlad because he was supposed to fight Povetkin and its out of his control

Toney never beat Rahman. It's funny how you guys love to disregard the official decision when it comes to this fight, yet act like the official decision for the win on a technicality that Lewis received over Vitali is the be all and end all of that discussion.:deal

Rahman would have lost that fight after the clash of heads. I don't know too many people who can beat James Toney while half blind. However, BEFORE the clash of heads, Rahman was beating Toney and James was completely ineffective with his right hands.

Once again... I am not claiming some HUGE victory for Wlad beating Rahman. I just think that it's ******ed the way that people use the Toney fight as some sort of focal point, acting like James knocked him out in a few rounds, when that isn't the case. Use the Maskaev fight for ****'s sake.

I also don't think that it has anything to do with Rahman being over the hill. I just don't think that Rahman was ever that good to begin with. However, he was an former undisputed World Champion, and the highest ranked available fighter for Wlad to fight on short notice. Also, there sure isn't any shame at all in Wlad taking 7 rounds to knock out Rahman.

Have you also noticed how VITLAY "pounded Peter into submission, Peter quit like a *****" in their fight, yet Rahman was "just honestly answering a question" in the Toney fight :rofl:rofl:rofl

    Gotta love these Klit-ites.

I thought the case was closed.I am glad you admit that Rahman isn't a good fighter/never was that. This is my main problem, people don't just say this. They twist the **** out of it.The reason Toney was brought into this whole thing was because people talked about Rahman beating Lewis but that was then. This is now(2008 as it was)and he wasn't the same fighter and had no form to speak of

I was going to quote the 'he answered the question truthfully'.What is quickly forgotten is that before he truthfully answered this question,he was squinting and pointing to the eye wanting out
