Wlad's team is slick, something we see by the fact that they would rather get a bargain basement bum than an ATG by paying him what he's worth (no I don't mean Haye). It's like any other time you make a good business deal, when the other guy realizes what's going on and that he won't be able to **** you or have his way with you financially...he then wants out of the tentative deal, and to start over. Btw buddy, how do I KNOW...?? :yep
No, if Haye is as good as everyone feels that he is. Then he won't have a problem beating some top competition in prime time spotlight. Not only making a bigger fight for the fans, and both of them.... but also setting himself up with more bargaining power. The fight could easily happen next year, after Haye does more work in the ring and the hype grows even bigger.
There isn't a casual boxing fan that I know who doesn't know who Wladimir Klitschko is. He might not be a mega-star in America yet... but anyone who casually follows boxing knows who the man in the Heavyweight division is. He has been televised on HBO so many times that any casual fan in America with a TV knows who he is. David Haye isn't very well known. That is because he was in the relatively obscure Cruiserweight Division, and isn't really displayed on prime time spots in America. All of this could change if a fight card was set up having Haye fighting someone like Arreola/Povetkin/Chambers/Peter/Brock, ect.... on the televised undercard of a Wlad title fight. That is how a fight like this needs to be hyped and brought into the public's eye.
note i said world not american, in a fight between to non american guys the world casual fan is what needs to be looked at.
Since all of this **** is BS and by design, I have to play the role of a good fan and pretend to buy the bull****...Wlad should like me better for it.
Whats America got to do with this :huh Its a British fighter vs a German based Ukranian set to take place is England or Germany
This is pretty much a statement I agreed with, KLIT nullified it though by engaging Haye in both the press and negotiation table. Those were not concerns before, why should they be now. It's too late for that, Wlad didn't show the class or foresight to see that those things are issues with the public...why start now...???
the pathetic fans that bring more money to fights than america n fans, give better support and travel round the world for many fights :-roll:
Any fan or group of boxing fans who would give you a blank stare if you asked them who Klitschko is, would definitely be qualified as pathetic fans.:good In other words... I don't believe that to be the reality in regards to UK boxing fans, I think that particular poster was talking out of his ass.
I think Wlad is barely known in Amercia because his fights are rarely promoted on any sports channel or that, the only one I could remember ESPN talking about, was the Iggy fight, and the next day they nothing but bad things to say about the fight. I think the much bigger reason why Wlad is an almost unkown commodity, is because his personality is not enertaining enough for most Americans, and it also doesn't help theirs no quality oppenents to fight anymore in the Heavyweight divsion, and the ones that are semi-good, dont want to fight him. All in all Wlad may never end up a star in the states, which is somewhat his fault, but even more so, he's just fighting in very bad Heavyweight era.
