Decapitated? Come on man. Show some respect. We are talking about fighters lives here. There are always injuries in the boxing ring and sometimes they have tragic consequences. It's very disheartening to hear a fellow boxing fan predict a decapitation in the ring. These are two great warriors going at it on the biggest stage in world boxing and you want the fight to end in a death? Come on man, show some class.
Umm a tall fighter doesnt slip under punches atsch you be pretty stupid to make that part of a fight plan or to train on :huh it if he fights Valuev maybe lol but a taller fighter pulls away from punches of the shorter fighter.. look at Lewis vs Tua or Vitali vs Williams if you need the visual help... And he is more accurate becasue he is a more polished boxer he throws the straiter punches, as far as who is faster its prob haye but not by the margin you make it sound like wlad can sling that jab out there pretty fast and i think itll neutralize Haye's speed, And footwork and movement are not natural in the ring it is taught you learn how to step and how to cut off the ring... And no he is not Lewis or Tyson.. i do think he beats the tyson lewis fought.. And as muc as i like Tyson his cryptonite was tall fighters.. Lewis is an all time great thats for sure but he was succeptible to one punch ko's and never seemed to get up when caught so i think wlad Lewis would be a very interesting fight as if Wlad has a bad chin then lewis's must be worse... BTW i still would pick lewis to win but would have it abt 60-40..
Fat, THIRY EIGHT YEAR OLD Lewis took everything a PRIME Vitali had to throw. He then proceeded to cut his face into a hideous mess. Lewis would make mincemeat of Wlad. Also, please don't get the wrong impression. I'm actually a big fan of Wlad. I think he is dominant and a very good ambassador for boxing. LEWIS TKO 6 PRIME VITALI LEWIS TKO 1 WLAD
I don't know where all this "Wlad is super skilled" agrument comes from. Take a closer look at things he does in the ring: 1) His left hand travels down to his hip after he throws a jab - technical mistake. When you retreave your left hand after a jab the fist must travel back to its initial position at the jaw, and you also lift up your left shoulder a little. Evidence: right hands landed by Brock which shouldn't have landed. 2) His right hand is swayed to the side or down when he throws a left hook - technical mistake. The right glove must be covering up the right side of the head and your right elbow must be pressed against your ribs whenever you throw a left hook. Evidence: left hooks landed by Sam Peter, which should have been blocked. 3) His left foot is catching up with his upper body when he throws a left hook - technical mistake. The left foot must land in proper position before or the moment your left hook meets the target. Otherwise you end up off balance if you miss. Evidence: the spinning around in the Rahman fight after a few missed left hooks. 4) He telegraphs his 1-2 by swinging his right shoulder before throwing the right hand - technical mistake. The punching power must be generated from your feet, not your torso, and the 1-2 must be thrown as narrowly as possible. Evidence: any fight in which he's missed right hands. Thus as good as his offense is, it's technically flawed. Things get worse when you look at his defense. 1) Stance: very open, with his left arm half extended and his right arm in a weird position - his fist is near to the jaw but it's not covering up anything, and his elbow is hanging up in the air leaving the rib cage wide open. 2) Defense against jabs: instead of catching jabs with his palm or using head movement he tries to parry jabs with his right forearm. That way if he can't parry it his right arm flies out upwards. The internet is full of WK's pictures with his right arm out stretched. It's technically incorrect and well looks real goofy. 3) Defense against left hooks: same parrying. A technical fighter like Floyd for example blocks the left hook and ducks to avoid the follow up punches if there are any. WK throws his right arm upwords and starts jumping upright to regain balance. The list goes on and on. One has to wonder how is it that he keeps winning. My guess is that his feet are deceptively quick, so when he's focused it's quite impossible to reach his chin - you don't get enough time for counters. That and his height advantage make it a challenge.
I think the crux of the matter is he is such a good athlete for someone his size it's incredibly hard for anyone to actually hit him as he just skips away whenever he is in trouble. The last person to have him on the backfoot was Peter but we all know the only thing Peter has ever moved fast for in his life is a free buffet. I agree with some of the things on your list but not everything. It would be very easy to sit down and watch even the very best prize fighters without spotting 'mistakes'. I do understand what you are saying though about Wlad's technique. I think it's funny when people say 'Wlad's not boring, I find it very enjoyable to watch someone break down his opponent clinically and then knock him out'. That's garbage, noone has done any 'breaking down'. Wlad just stands there with the jab and pushes it out, pushes it out and then skips away when he is troubled. Come round 3 he starts to crash the right hand home. He never really exposes the opponent or anything first, just bludgeons it home as he is such a large man the effect will be felt whether it lands clean or not. All in a I like Wlad but when people say he is a perfect technician, absolutely ridiculous. There is only 2 perfect technicians in this sport - that's JMM and Froch. Lol, no I'm kidding it's JMM and PBF.
Pure Theory....and some is simply wrong as "The punching power must be generated from your feet, not your torso..." Watch a prime Ali or Louis and you will find a lot of "flaws" you mentioned above. Your schoolbook advices are good in theory, but if a boxer fights like you think he has to, that will be extremely uneconomic. Klitschko has no need to retreave his jab back to the jaw. His feet and head movement do the job. Hell Ali must be a shitty fighter then for almost never retreaving the jab to the jaw..... Flaws are only flaws, if they can be exposed in reality.... And the sense of a defense is not to get hit with a meaningful punch. And Klitschko doesnt get hit flush anymore. Klitschkos "technical incorrectness" is a very succesful style of his own. So your posting is little bit meaningless.
Leave Ali alone, he could get away with literally anything As for Louis, he was excellent at catching jabs with his palm or using head movement which in turn allowed him to counter over the top. How many times have you seen Wlad throw an overhand right? A conscious overhand right?
Wlad has textbook offensive skills, no denying that but his overall skills are limited. His upper body movement is non existant, except for the ahem, 'backward lean'. He is robotic. That is not a bad thing in itself, and almost perfect against people that cannot get inside on him, he leans back and pulverises with the jab and sometimes right. But when fighters can slip his jab and close the distance, he does not have a whole lot in his arsenal, other than a clinch, which he does shamelessly as soon as a guy gets an opening, absolutely shamelessly. His inside ability is virtually absent, he cannot fight on the inside. Thats not usually a problem because people cant make him, but against a decent level of opposition who can stay out of the clinch he is screwed. Take Brewster. (not great by any means) But as soon as he stunned Wlad, Wlad had absolutely no idea what to do except grab hold of him, Brewster was too strong, kept himself from being bearhugged and was able to get his shots off and take him out. Wlad simply cannot fight on the inside, it gives me the shivers to think what Tyson would do to him. Wlad has a great plan A, but no Plan B, he cannot fight under real pressure. I would go as far as to say he is one dimensional, albeit with a good level of skill and offensive ability in that dimension, nevertheless it remains just 1 dimension I fear. And that has been exposed by subpar fighters three times already. We are not talking flash in the pan massive lucky punches straight to the jaw here. We are talking about fundamental flaws and lack of defensive skill, nous and stamina. That for me is (aside from the quality of opposition) the major factor which seperates Wlad's losses to Lewis's. Lewis was downed by a slightly dodgy chin and massive shots out of nowhere, Wlad was downed by much worse fighters because of a lack of skill and defensive instinct. Always makes me laugh when people compare Wlads skills to Lewis.
Wlad want's to be quick with his jab, because if he gets lazy david hayes over hand right is lightening and i think wlad with his huggy bear stuff is ideal for it. Styles make fights and there is a possibility that a lot of people will be shocked after the fight. If haye lands a few of them rights its all over
