No, however it would have prolonged the chance for Wlad to fight David Haye. Once Povetkin pulled out, Wlad had to either fight the next highest available contender to fulfill the mandatory spot... or try to pick up a different fight on short notice... and then have his mandatory IMMEDIATELY due after his fight, with no options for a big fight voluntary defense against someone like Haye. So, Wlad fought Rahman... the next highest available contender so that it would give him 9 months to try and put together a worhwhile voluntary defense... which he wouldn't have been able to land a very good voluntary defense on short notice like that.

I know it bothers you that Wlad cleared his mandatory out of the way. That opened him up to fight against Haye, and soon you will have to find a new savior to hang all of your hopes on.

 

That's good to know. So who should Wlad fight next besides his brother? Give me a name. I'd like to read it.

The fact is Wlad is much better than your typical top ten heavy. He will dominate them, make them look bad, and knock them out...then you'll say so and so wasn't that good to begin with. Sigh.

Fear not. London bridge will be falling down soon enough. When Haye crashes to the canvas, you can belly ache about who Wlad is going to fight next.

 

It doesn't bother me at all, I just wanted it cleared up that he didn't have to fight Rahman that's all. I fully understand why he did but that was never the point.

The divison is average. Wlad is great which is why he wins so easy. That is my opinion.

It is ironic that many brits who were sour it took Lennox Lewis a while to get his due, are not giving Wlad his.

i know he isn't but he's still knocking the hell out of Wlad in June :happy

 

I never worried about Lewis getting his due, it didn't matter what anyone said he had the record to back it up. WALD on the other hand doesn't yet, and the way the division is looking he never will either. Not his fault but that's the way it is.

 

I see Haye getting the K/O inside of 5 rounds.

I also predicted Margachito would not win a round against Mosley.
